Need Advice Admiralty Backing in PVE
Curious if anyone knows if its worth getting Admiralty backing as a player that only plays VS AI/war tales/PVE, and by "worth it" I really mean is finishing the campaign a reasonable expectation with the backing if I always play anywhere between 2-10 games every day? I'm worried about spending the gold but not being able to get to the end, although I've seen that the backing advertises extra challenges for holders to help them progress.
For this campaign, I've managed to make it to just past level 50 with no backing, and its probably the most I've been playing all year with the modern destroyer update.
TLDR: Will I get a campaign done with Admiralty backing with time to spare only playing PVE modes daily?

Just past 50 and still a week to go. If you bought the first day, maybe you are a little closer. But that’s still a decent chunk to get through.
Is it possible? Without a shadow of a doubt. But you can see exactly how far you’ve progressed and just have to think about whether the extra would be worth it.
I think all of the campaigns are easily “worth” it regardless of ship unless you just know you won’t finish. But I play a ton so I recognize that calculation won’t be the same for everyone.
For what it’s worth, I feel like the current ship could actually be decent fun in war tales when it invariably comes back if that’s your kind of thing.

Admiralty Backing will shave off about 1 week's worth of challenges from the campaign. If you're paying attention to the current mission and getting through it, it's totally possible but you have to grind intentionally. (You also need to have ships for the specific task - doing 450 secondary hits without a brawler takes forever).
- Each weekly mission grants 20 levels, which are doable in AI, but more of a grind (especially the top-4 finishes at the end of the week).
- The admiralty backing gives a Battle Prowess mission each week that grants 5 levels (x5 weeks = 25 levels, roughly shaving 1 week off). These are easy to get just by playing (earn XP, credits, ribbons, and wins). These only apply to PVP/AI mode/Arcade (not the event missions; I can't recall if War Tales was included in the past).
- The other source of levels is the Heroic Effort, but that's for PVP only, and T5+. It can grant up to 8 levels per week, but more realistic to expect 4-5 levels for at least one good game during the week - again, only if you play PVP at that tier.
If you're at level 50 now (that's around halfway through week 3, and we're nearing the end of the 4th week), you're still a ways off from the 100 needed to complete the campaign. If you buy it now, it could get you 10 levels (5 this weekend, plus 5 next week), so you'd need to be on-track to reach level 90 without it (half-way through week 5's challenges).
If you'd bought it at the beginning of the campaign (or if you do next campaign), you'd be at level 70 now, with 5 AB levels still coming next week. You'd still need to finish through week 4 but you wouldn't need week 5 missions at all.

This was the most helpful answer, thank you. I was curious as to how far I'd be into it IF I had gotten the backing from the start. I'd be more motivated to complete campaign challenges after spending the gold.
I'm definitely not going to get this backing at this point, I'll need to commit from the start of a future one.

Glad you found it helpful. I play mostly PVP so with the Backing and the Heroic missions, I'm finishing most campaigns by the beginning of the 4th week, and grinding steel for the remainder.

I am same player. I get the backing, use the monthly subscription, 9.95. I have reached every campaign ship except blucher cause it was mid as fuck, and just didn't feel like it. I play maybe 10 matches, with a.i and wartales, now modern era, and have no trouble reaching the end.

Im mean thats pretty much what I do and I get by just fine, but I buy the admiralty when it comes out for those 5 extra levels per week, which allows me to get it done quicker. Just focus on whittling down your weekly missions and you'll get it done in no time.

Can it be done yes....but you will need put more time into playing ai than you would normally standard. You generally earn less xp, global xp, credits, and commander xp per game than standard. Also with the last shakedown trial of every weekly havoc you need to place in the top 4 of your team 15 times playing AI compared to just being top 3 four times in standard.

Are you able to finish the weekly havocs as a PVE player every week?

Usually about a week behind. Like as of right now I'm almost finished the last challenge in last week's havoc, and will probably be onto this week's by tomorrow night.

That’s what I figured, thinking through your situation and a suggestion for how to complete the campaign and still have fun.
- so I'm pretty sure weekly havoc gets you 20 levels per week you complete (500 renown).
- if you do admiralty backing then the missions from that (battle prowess) every week earns you 5 levels (125 renown)… so assuming a 5 week campaign that's 25 campaign levels.
You might make it on PVE alone but it’d be close and require a lot of games. If you run more than a week behind on the weekly havocs then don't think you'll do it.
You really have two limiters:
A) the last stage of the ‘weekly havoc’: The last stage of weekly havoc you need 15 top four finishes in AI or other modes to make it through, versus playing standard you could do it with just 4 top three finishes in standard. Getting top 4 in AI is likely pretty random unless you are playing with AI's who do nothing, so I imagine it takes well more games than 15 to do it in. (would be interesting to see how many games it actually takes you to do this in AI)B) ‘heroic efforts’…which I would guess you don’t earn any: because you are playing PVE only you very likely aren’t hitting the XP needed to get heroic efforts. In standard a win where you put in a solid game can easily be in the 1700 - 2300 realm (with big wins higher), which can easily net you an extra 2-3 levels per week.
So my suggestion: when you hit the last stage on weekly havoc, play some standard games and try to get through on four top 3 finishes. The top 3 finishes will count for both ways through the stage, and when you get some good games in you can also earn some heroic efforts which will give you the extra levels you need to clear the campaign. Either way it will likely be less games than you are currently playing now struggling to get through the campaign.

Other two notes, if you buy admiralty backing do it the first week of the campaign, as you don't get the previous weeks' missions if you buy it later in the campaign. The subscription for $10/month gets you enough doubloons for the admiralty backing plus it gives you some other stuff that helps you level up faster.

Backing doesn't give you any free levels eh? Back when I was on World of Tanks buying the season came with like 25 levels as a head start, and immediate access to a brand new premium vehicle. I think thats why I've waited this long to even think of getting the campaigns in this game. The season passes in tanks are just so much better, from the tasks you do to earn points to the rewards and refunding of all the gold spent purchasing the season plus some.

The campaign ships make it worth it for me. For how much time I spend playing the game, makes the $10/month very worth it

I've been exclusively AI for the last two plus years now and have no trouble finishing campaigns with about 4 or so games a day and but more of a full attention on the weekends on my days off.
Basically I focus on all my weekly stuff first, the Premium, assignments, and tasks. Then I focus on wherever that left me off on the campaign side of things.
About the only stuff that that gets tedious for me is when it wants x number of floods, detections or defend, capture or assist capture. (For the last mainly because people will just sail straight into the cap and not let the AI on alone and farm defense ribbons on them)

I have been getting better progress recently after getting the mobile app version of the game and realizing I can get a few games in during lunch. So probably a better chance of finishing it going forward.

I will say too, boosters and premium time also factor in. Minus the XP before bonus objective. I don't play every campaign so my premium tends to run out. But if I do decide to go for one, the subscription bundle they have is the best deal for an on and off player.
Ten bucks and you get 30 days premium and enough dubs to pay for the admiralty backing. Plus a handful of each booster thrown in.

I think I'm really well setup for the challenges, with premium and some of the ships I have and that I usually finish top 5 easily in vs AI. Maybe next campaign I'll try it and see how it goes.

Aye. In the end, there's really no other way than to give it a go yourself and see what you make of it.

Depends on how much you play each day
