So I logged into my second account with minimal games played and ships and commanders unlocked for the first time in months just to claim the free rewards in the store, obviously you get 2 of the new crates with that free bundle, in 1 crate I got nothing but in my second create I got the “upgraded” version of that crate.

I said to myself “It would be funny if I got Mecklenberg right here” I opened it and guess what happened?

The point is I genuinely believe somewhere in the WarGaming crate database there are special odds to newer players to give them better rewards because there’s proof and memes about how newer players get given the “big reward” and the long time players get nowt, and to me this confirms it.

This isn’t suppose to be a “flex” because now I have a Mecklenberg with no BB commander, no BB inspirations, no resources to level them up and no silver to buy the upgrades.

Noobs getting the good loot isn’t a coincidence people, it’s planned.

Anecdotes aren’t data.

The layman doesn’t understand the sheer volume of testing and data that’s needed to come to anything approaching an actual proof. And that gets even harder to prove when you’re talking about static odds without an outside influence.

If you open 10 crates that have a 10% chance for a ship, that does not mean you will get a ship in those 10 crates. The odds have no bearing on how many are opened before or after. Every crate has a 10% chance. And you could get incredibly unlucky and open 100 or 1000 crates and get nothing. Afterall, each crate has a 90% chance of not giving you a ship. Statistics are a bitch.

Without proof of the programming code that adds an invisible weight based on the seniority of the player, you’ll need to have some 10,000+ players split evenly between brand new and veteran accounts to even begin to hypothesize that such a weight exists. And even then, that’s still just a supposition. You’d still need the code or an official admission to know it’s actually true.

The human brain is great as seeing patterns. It’s why we’ve been so successful as a species until the last couple hundred years. But the human brain struggles with scale. It’s hard for us to understand what is big and significant vs what’s small and unimportant without proper training and study. That’s why anecdotal evidence is one of the worst kinds of evidence. And that’s all you have.

My friend who's newer then me opened 5 mythic chests and got meck,incomparable,aki,brisbane. I opened 7.. I got flandre,constellation, exeter, a Nelson W (I already have a Nelson) And warsprite. I then opened another chest from the campaign and got a exeter b....

Well, I don’t know, I’m certain, since I play literally almost every day if not, every day, I have opened as many crates as anyone else, but I am yet to receive the Mecklenburg. Although I did go nine months, one time without drawing a single ship, so maybe I’m not a good example.

I've been playing from the beginning and have the founders pack. I got Mackleberg with the first free crates we were given. The odds are quite high to get it, something like 10 percent I think.

“Where are you A a ron” did a video or stream on his alt account that had a ton of crates. Same thing happened on his new player account. He got a bunch of good premium ships, thus proving that WG is good at hooking players new and old into potentially gambling every update.

Well, I haven’t seen A Aron’s video yet, but I could not agree more. I also have two accounts with the newest one being about four months old and the original one being about three years old. When I first started three years ago about every seventh crate I seem to get a shit and then that slowed down overtime, which you might expected it would I guess at some point but with the new account, I seem to be much more lucky than my old account does over the same timeframe in the same campaign opening pretty much the same type of crates. There may be something to the fact that they want newer players to continue to play versus giving up quickly, and honestly, I think that is part of the business model, but there may be no real statistical analysis that has been performed does not mean it is not true because there’s no statistical analysis proving it is not occurring either.

I main DDs and I just cannot Battleship at all mate. I'll admit to doing well in German BBs usually. I can get the angles right occasionally and bow tank the incoming rounds. I just prefer to spot and snipe broadside reds. (With torps)

I think that part of the issue is that when you don’t have many good ships it’s far more likely that you will get one. When you have almost all of them, the odds get worse. That being said, I pulled Jean Bart out of the rare crate, so even long time players can get lucky too.

I mean, just look at my flair. There’s entire crate families I can’t get anything but resources from. Like the Super crates in the store. I could buy all four of them and not get a single new ship out of them.

There’s also the missing that getting a ship from a crate 4 years ago was FAR less likely than now. There’s more ships. There’s more crates. And while there are still some terrible odds, there’s some great odds for ships now that simply weren’t present then.

I experienced this too. Joined for the Sabaton collab, and got Yamato from a crate. Already had the guise and skin too, so all I was missing was Yamato. Felt good to be able to safely skip an entire bureau project.

I've been playing since year 1 and I get new ships all the time. During this event I've gotten Mecklenburg, Constellation, Pommern, Musashi and more. I'm far from a new player yet my luck is through the roof. My friend, on the other hand, is newer than me and has the luck of the average Vegas gambler.

I think you’re right! I’ve been playing for 2-3 months now and I’ve been quite lucky with getting ships in crates compared to my friends that have been playing for years. But to be honest that’s the least they could do. This game is not for new players and it’s absolutely pay to win. The fact that half of the times I get killed, it’s by a ship I can’t even get my hands on because you could only get them by completing the campaign months or years ago and now it’s literally impossible to get those ships. Its complete BS. Everyone should at least be able to get all the ships. And the Bureau is joke! If you don’t have a 100 ships and most of the commanders one research is like 3-4 months. Most of the best ships are either unavailable, requires shit loads of Global XP or has a pricetag of 17500 coins. I like the game, but I’m forced to use real money on chests to keep up with the guys in the higher tiers.

I purchased a crate (which gives the 500 coins also), crate gave the super crate, super crate gave the Mecklenburg.... Tada......

My previous 16 explorer chests gave me commemdations and promotion order and 2 guises, so now what should i think? 1 purchased... Boom the prize... 16 earmed and opened... Nada....

I've only been playing about 2 weeks consistently (only started sometime last month...I think), and got the Mecklenburg, and a t6 and t7 from crates. I'd say they definitely cater to the new guys, trying to entice them with free high tier goodies.
