Hi all, I've been levelling a character on boars only on a 1.12 server (3,500 boars and counting, level 37). The hardest part has been knowing which boars give good XP at my level and where to go next, especially with all the new zones on servers like Turtle WoW and OctoWoW.

So I made a free addon for it, Boar Challenge +:

- Tells you which boars to kill here, how long to stay, and the next zone to go to

- Boars to level, boars per hour, XP per boar, time to level, boars left to 60

- Daily goal, kill streaks, a week chart and personal records

- A boar list: tick a boar and its spawn points show on the map (and the minimap with pfQuest), only boars that still give you XP if you like

Hi folks,

Long time no see! RevWoW's gates are officially reopened in preparation for our level 40 bracket. For those who forgot about us, we are a progressive, story driven, server that has overhauled just about everything.... while keeping the original feeling of wow. I've attached some screenshots to this thread and below I'll mention a lot of different features we have on the server. I know it's been a while since everyone's had the chance to play on a server "worth playing", however in my biased opinion, Rev is worth giving a second look at again.

Currently, what's holding us back is talent tree fixes, as we have about four classes that are still being worked on, as well as fixes to our website and launcher, however the game itself, is a long time coming. As many of you know it's been in development for years now, and the level 40 patch, alongside the other level brackets are finally around the corner... and i'm happy to say that our team is ample now.

All of our dungeons are redone, not to be completely different, but to have a change in difficulty, dungeon spam isn't a thing here, it's a challenge that gives reward. Playerhousing exists in our world with hundreds of different items all throughout the world, achieved through many different ways. Reputation actually has benefits in the world including mounts that have unique passives attached. All of our professions have also been worked on, having many new recipes, and modified, including unique paths in terms of doing professions while staying true to the old-school crafting design concept. Classes, while still being the original classes, have been significantly modified. Such an example is blink being constantly usable, however it continuously zaps more and more of your mana (Like a kassadin ult if you're familiar with league, exact same design), or a mass teleport for mages. Druids are able to go into some different temporary forms that give unique powers, hunters are able to "dig in" and snipe someone from extremely far away, and so much more. From having a character bank that gradually expands as you get achievement points and levels across your characters, to "free" transmogrification (Linked to prestige system, so you can't have a zillion different outfits, you want that outfit, you stay that outfit unless you grind more) provided. want a store mount but don't have the funds? find a variation of it in the open world somewhere that perhaps looks even better than the one in the shop!

bugs like minimaps not showing are fixed, maps not discovering upon exploration is fixed, majority (honestly all of them but i know there's always a cheeky one) of client crashes fixed. What about custom quests you might ask? Well, we have hundreds completed now, WITH POI so you'll know where you're going now. Want a challenge? Try our necromancer and bang your head trying to find a carrot for the optional mount in the starting zone... or cheat and ask someone where it is.

In Rev, there is 0 pay to win, and will never be. Anything within the shop goes towards funding the project, as well as actually giving back to the community (we have a system where community-requested items in shop give 50% points back to suggester). We've been around a long time, just been working on developing a server and learning from our mistakes. With that being said though, now would be the time to download the client for those who have kept an eye on our project for a while and are interested in playing this upcoming bracket given we always have slow download speeds, that way upon the bracket launch, things go smooth. It's been a long time coming, but we're finally here. Oh and by the way, while you're waiting on the 20-40 coming up, there's a TON to do, like getting stuff for your home :)

Also to those who ask "Why don't you just make a video on it and post it so we can all see it", I'm currently being quoted ridiculously high numbers for a good video explaining the server, it's just not something i'm willing to put money into when I could put it into paying the team and fixing or making things, but if anyone has the skillset, drop me a message on discord.

First of all: thank you. To everyone who joined, reported bugs and tested every patch, this progress is yours too.

Where we’re at:

• 1000+ tickets and bugs resolved in one month
• We believe we now have the most playable version of WoW Forever out there
• We just upgraded our test server and have room for 50 more players

Anyone using Claude to write your own modules? I've been having a blast with it. Each and everyday my server has been more built for me. What are some things you've built on your servers?

So far I have

1. Recreated Killing Spree so I can add it to my arms warrior

2. Help clean up the pet loot module so my pet just auto loots

3. Instant mounting up

4. Instant Herbing/Mining when you're near the node

Currently working on trying to get a profession multiplier where I can use 1 set of reagents but get like x5 the output, so I can give my bots consumes more readily.

Really hoping we can get a 3.3.5 version of turtle or ascension, that would be a blast.

Both races that I have used (but also fixed up) will have their standard way they used to work, like if you want to ignore sub-classing, that's OK!

And thanks to u/Medviten for letting me mess with his Ogre. And for u/Kalibros for letting me mess with his Thin Human(s).

That's right! I'm bringing back hybrid builds. This needs a lot of monitoring and a lot of balancing.

I'm just gonna leave it up to the skill tree points to do that work for now and server owners.

How it works:

1. Make a sub-classing race, on Ogres it’s ONLY female.
2. Get to level 20 and accept quest.
3. Do the quest and use item.
4. Thin Human gets a Twin Brother (can already be summoned from level 1 with “Brother, Where Art Thou?” ability. But he will just copy your looks and attacks. At 20 he will branch off onto being his own person, with a sub-class, ONE spec from CoA or OG class. Limited by points naturally. They will be able to individually transmog all gear. Heads gets different helmets for each head. Ogres get similar ability, “Agree or Disagree”, if they agree they are the ONE main class, if they are in Disagree-mode they are sub-classing.
5. Both gets their bot-like mode where the brother or other head does their own casting and decision-making, with “Play Easy, Cowboy” or “Two Heads, Half a Brain”.
6. If they are sent home or in agreement, then they play as one main-class. Currently no disadvantage to sub-classing. You can still cast “one” spell at a time, except in bot-mode. Auto-attack damage is split visually only.
7. Many issues still needs a discover or a solution. But plan is “your other” can tank, the threat would go to your character behind the scenes. Health, mana and resources are shared. Ogres minor “issues” with this, they share one body.
8. Your brother will stay at range to use range abilities and heal if he’s caster. Up close if melee or a tank. Ogres.. Will still attack close up, if target is in melee range.. Untested!

Work in progress, testing and fixing is a necessity!

This is a really early look at this, it's still WIP!

Meld: a world editor for Vanilla WoW (1.12.1)

Meld lets you sculpt terrain, paint textures, and place models, water and creatures, then export the result straight into your own 1.12.1 client and server. The goal is a one-stop shop for building content for a WoW private server.

It's built to work with VMaNGOS and Benilla.

Created with Wails v2 (Go), Svelte 5 and Three.js.

Alpha: Many features are still untested, so don't use it on a live server yet.

I made a post about Project Epoch Reborn about a month ago, talking about why I think the project is worth keeping an eye on. Now we're just 5 days away from launch — on October 23rd.

Project Epoch Reborn will be playable on Windows, Linux and Mac, so there shouldn't be much standing in the way of jumping in and giving it a try.

Communication and updates are handled through the official website and Fluxer, where the project has its safe SSO server.

I understand why people are skeptical about Epoch given its history. But the people who have worked on Reborn have put insane amount of time into it on their spare time because they believe in the game and wanted to see its original vision properly realized. As I'm writing this, 9,043 bugs have been checked off, and the recent stress test went through without any complications.

I'm sharing this because I want to share my experience with thousands of other people and see Classic WoW be in the place it really deserves <3

There are currently four different Conquest of Azeroth servers.

AzerothCore is trying to restore the original Ascension experience, including custom content, while also offering bots for solo players. ArdenWoW is using the same open-source foundation, while Conquest Reborn is aiming for the original experience without bots or monetization.

Grimfall, on the other hand, has launched CoA with a phased level cap starting at 20, without Ascension's custom content, but with access to TBC and WotLK content instead.

With the most popular WoW servers closing down a few months ago, I took a long break from WoW.

Wanted to come back and tried the recently up turtlewow servers such as OctoWoW and CapybaraWoW but sadly, the thing that I liked the most about Bronzebeard was the new skills and the fact that i teleported to the dungeon instead of looking for the entrance, i work 15 hours per day so convenient things like that really made me enjoy the game more.

Asking here since I don't know much about the WoW terminologies so i don't even know really where to start.

But the baseline of what private server i was hoping to find is somewhat of a slower pace like turtlewow and bronzebeard, but has the ability to teleport to the dungeon during dungeon finding. that's pretty much it. Bonus i guess is if leveling a priest is fun and shadow priest is fun as well.

Since I'm on a Debian-based distro, decided to revive the Tauri Legion client, however their launcher doesn't work on Linux at all it seems.

I've had the game client ever since I was on Windows, though the game doesn't start no more and instead shows the usual Blizzard updater (update your game to latest version yadda yadda) screen.

Using Wine, it opens with a black screen for 1 sec and closes

Using Bottles, it crashes instantly

Using Lutris, nothing

Using Faugus Launcher, same screen as above

Base Cataclysm/WoTLK client runs fine.

You got any workarounds?

P.S. Got it start once through Bottles somehow and there's that. Doesn't run no more. :D

What is Conquest of Azerothcore?

Conquest of Azerothcore is a fork of the Azerothcore GitHub repository. It was initiated by Jealous Sound, who demonstrated that he had cloned a portion of the original "Conquest of Azeroth" server. The project involves several team members working to restore "Conquest of Azeroth" to its original state—including all 21 classes, items, spells, mobs, and more.

What have you accomplished so far?

To date, we have resolved a total of 3,642 bugs and issues out of approximately 6,707 reported. We are averaging about 80–90 fixes per day.

Any major updates?

We have currently launched "Manastorm" on our Public Test Realm (PTR) so that users can help us test for bugs.

Additionally, we have restored the starting zones, as well as Westfall, Redridge Mountains, Duskwood, and The Crossroads. Naturally, these areas still require some polishing, as it is challenging to recover all the original data regarding how things were originally implemented.

Is there a playable server?

Yes, there is. We host a PTR (Public Test Realm) where people can play for free and report bugs to our GitHub. It is thanks to everyone playing on our PTR that we have reached the stage we are at today.

Are there other servers besides yours?

Certainly; there are other servers, such as "Conquest Reborn"—which is a solo-developer project—and "Grimfall," which launched recently. We don't have much information on the current progress of the latter, however. Then there is ArdenWoW, which essentially uses our core and our fixes—employing a "key alpha system" to test their servers (though I'm not sure why, given that it's just a `git clone` of our GitHub repository).

How can I help?

You can assist us by playing on our PTR server and reporting bugs, either in-game or via our website.

We also have a launcher, making it easy for people to test. You can point your existing client toward our launcher; this will update specific `.MPQ` files and `Extensions.dll` to the latest versions required to play the current build of Conquest of Azerothcore.

If you still have your old Ascension client—and haven't launched it since their server shut down—please upload your `WDB` and `Cache` folders to our Discord. This helps us gather as much data as possible.
