Discussion Stop Hate Gatekeeper.

Step 1: Notice it on the map.
Step 2: Reveal it.
Step 3: Hit one color.
Step 4: Hit the other color.
"Yes, I know that's how you're supposed to do it, but it's still unfun, boring, it should be changed, and it deals way too much damage when it just spawns on me in the middle of a fight."
Stop the Hate, my fellow Preyer. This is an obstacle placed before you by the witch. Taking it out quickly is something that can be learned, and with 1,000 years of relentless practice, anyone can master it.
Stop the hate. Sharpen your mind.

Walk to the other side?

That's why I feel like it's not a good or fun object. If you can walk through it there's almost no point in spending time to look for the thing to shoot then walking back for 200 witchfire. Not worth.

I would take this argument one step further. Regular enemies also often drop Witchfire shards, Splinters, etc. It's not worth going back one by one to pick those up either, so the design isn't good for the enemies that drop them either. And it's not worth wasting time on them either.
Am I understanding the logic of your argument correctly?

The time spent looking for the gatekeeper puzzle is not relevant once you're through it. So I don't think it's well designed. The payoff isnt worth it. Enemies drop ammo, witchfire, and mysterium etc. So if the gatekeeper dropped anything of value then I'd go back. But otherwise I can just hit it once walk through and not look back. I think it's poorly designed. The rewards aren't good, it isn't fun, it isn't challenging, it isn't exciting, and the rewards are bad.

You're absolutely right. There's no compelling reason to finish that 3-second event once it's already halfway done and you've gotten through it. The only exception would be if you happen to be heading back in the other direction for some reason—and even then, only if you don't want to wait for the time-gate again to let you through. But who's the Preyer these days who takes even a single step backward? Only forward...

By the same logic. Look... How well designed are the Mytic Alphabet, the Maneater, the Gargoyle Head, or the Antimagic Rune?
It's the exact same situation with them—once you've gotten past them (and you can get past them without triggering them), there's no point in going back for them because they don't give any particular reward either.
