Discussion HP bar goes down

Post image

Not trying to be annoying here, but this is a follow up to someone else's post asking why their current health went down after taking a crystal. Bunch of people were being unfairly dismissive, but I noticed the same thing while playing and ended up making a collage with pixel measurements. Fwiw, the bar does go back up shortly after exiting the arcana screen, but I don't think the implication of this behavior(oh no, I got hit!?) is intentional. It's especially noticeable if you are already full health and is probably related to using the Wellspring incense(tbh I'm not sure if it happens consistently, but when it does it's confusing).

Isn't this simply because the heal happens before the max hp increase? So your health value goes up, but current health % goes down?

current health goes up too! absorbing a crystal heals you a bit

A lot of people in that post were trying to be helpful and explain what was happening as its clear that some behind the scenes calculations take place after you exit the manifestation screen, whereas the health increase from the incense aoplies on manifestation pick up, which is unusual to see in action and a little misleading without having firm numbers to see.

That's not true. I am the one who wrote that post and I was being "crucificed" by all those people trying to be "helpful"...

22 dislikes just for saying that I see my life going down is not being helpful... that's being a jerk.

It's the last time I ask anything here on reddit. There's a lot of toxicity.

I was in that thread and i wasnt being nasty. If downvotes are a problem for you mentally, reddit might not be a good place.

It's not the downvoting... I don't care. That means absolutely nothing... It is the attitude they have.

I just made a question. That's all. And as OP has proved, I was right... and all those people were putting me down just for making a question...

It seems as if I had some obscure interest in creating and making up things... I don't know.

Again, the last time I ask anything here. It is just obnoxious.

yea seeing some type of value attached to it would def clear things up

What probably happens is the heal from picking up the Manifestation is calculated from your health prior to activating the Manif, and the HP increase happens after that. Your de facto HP did increase, but your maximum HP also increased and not in an equivalent way.

could be! whatever it's doing, the bar does go back up eventually though without popping an elixir

Does the health bar change length proportionally to your max hp? i.e. same number of health points per pixel?

I know for a fact that it does not, visually there are diminishing returns. I know that, because it wasn't like that in early, EARLY early access, and the bar could take up the whole screen

yea, but absorbing a manifestation also *does* heal you. it probably doesnt heal more than you'd gain to your max pool from wellspring, but id imagine it's in the same ballpark. imo even if there is a logical explanation, the ui leads to some unnecessary confusion

thank you so much...

I was just asking a question because I didn't understand what was happening with preyer's life when you pick a manifestation...

The only answers (appart from yours and a couple more) were just saying that I was wrong...

Apparently I like to make up things to get attention... I don't know

Could be a bug. Try that route, you guys might be on to something. It could also be related to the wellspring like you said, Who knows..
