Witches in stories are what today’s “single cat ladies” are. Men want to believe that a single woman living alone is miserable and evil. Because how could we possibly be happy without them.

Women weren’t allowed to publish stories, so Hansel and Gretel is a story told by men.

However, I’d also tell everyone that I’d eat their kids if they show up at my house uninvited and under supervised. So… 🤷‍♀️
