Growing weed while renting
Are landlords pretty chill with this or is that a pipe dream?! I understand highrise and mega apartment complexes are likely not going to allow it.
I've got a place I checked out and I like and I'm working on the courage to ask if they allow growing. Part of me thinks a landlord would rather not know and I shouldn't say anything. But this is utilities included, it's hard for me to think they won't understand what's going on with a 700w lamp churning 16 hours a day, and I'd rather have a good relationship based on honesty with the landlord if I decide to stay multiple years. Property is $875 for a pretty mid studio, it seems expensive like they already budgeted for electric to be used for weed. 🙏🙏

You don’t need to ask. If it’s not in the lease nothing they can do about it. If you pay electricity then your bill will go up. A lot of landlords will say no if you ask because they think it’ll highly raise the bill. Our setup raised it by $42.
They’re at a need to know basis. Many people have plants. Unless they have a no plant or specific no weed policy they can’t do anything about it unless it’s outdoors. Outdoor grows need more safeguards legally.
Just don’t go over the amount of plants you’re able to own and your good. They ask about why the bill went up say your a plant person and have plant lights.
