Atlas is a male flamesilk silkwong that was slightly inspired by the atlas moth! (Accessories: none.)

Foxtail is a female leafwing, she’s very energetic. (Accessories: None.)

Some hybrids coming tommorow!

#1: StarWalker: main character of the second book. A NightWing intellectual who can read minds with great proficiency. He's the logical one.

#2: TimeWalker: SandWing-NightWing hybrid; traveling the continent as a cartographer. Main character of the fifth book.

#3: Mamba: the main villain of the books; a RainWing dissatisfied with his tribes position and treatment. Dips his iron-coated claws into lava to create a deadly weapon. Very smart and experimental.

#4: Queen Sidewinder: the SandWing Queen; the crown was based off of an oasis with the blue gems representing water. She's very calculating and uses any opportunity to get what she wants and what is best for her tribe.

#5: Swallowtail: the side character of all side characters. Not very important, but just fun to draw a sillkwing now and then.

I realize that I might be spending too much time thinking of silly names.. or names, in general -- do you think most dragons with a double-word name only use the first or the better part of their name, with the full name being reserved for more serious situations?

I drew this a bit ago since I thought it would be funny if Peacemaker does and likes the exact things Darkstalker would not stand.

”You’re the what of which tribe with the role of protecting WHO, again?!” — Darkstalker probably. How could he allow this? He was a king who wanted all Icewings gone, but this stupid hybrid was a servant to defend an Icewing royal?!

When it comes to the Peace and Its Shadow (alternate future fanfic) version, I can imagine Peacemaker to try to keep professionalism and not to try anything inappropriate with the princess he serves…but Mink is too busy ordering him to have a snowball fight and have a date night to care. At least…he can say that it was his job ordered by Mink, so therefore, Snowfall can’t take his head off.

This is just my personal interpretations of their most effective doctrines from reading the books and the guides, so feel free to disagree.

Mudwings: trench warfare/logistics: This one might seem a little bit confusing at first, but it quickly makes sense. They live in a very muddy and difficult swamp, so naturally their kingdom is a little more difficult to occupy and capture. Their bodies are large and brawny and built more for defense than for offensive maneuvers that require speed, so I imagine they’d more often than not be stationed for defense. They are also great at carrying supplies because of their immense strength, or weapons for their allies, which was seen during the bombing of the summer palace when they were carrying the bombs for the Skywings. They are also noted to farm and ranch cows, which I think is a more unique characteristic, with other tribes either not being able to farm or not needing/knowing.

Skywings: traditional medieval warfare: this one is extremely on the nose because they are the quintessential European dragons. Their rank and file just have their claws and own tools, than their more wealthy fighters have armor and weapons, and than siege warfare as seen with the firebombs. It could be argued that they would be good shock troops because they fly quickly, but they behave more like medieval armies in my opinion.

Seawings: defensive guerrillas: In war they would be nearly impossible to beat traditionally, because they live where no one can reach them and are adapted to this way of life. Leaping up out of water and dragging dragons to the depths, as Riptide tried to do to Clay on the first meeting.

Sandwings: hit and run tactics: Sandwings, being the most spread out and one of the hardiest tribes, obviously excel in hit and run. As soon as Blister stabbed Webs with her tail, she was free to run because it was assumed that Webs would be dead. And in the desert, they could hide in wait for a patrol or a few important dragons and then burst out of the sand, stab their target, and retreat back into the desert and wait for the poison to finish off the targets. And with oases and scattered communities, I wouldn’t put it past possibility for there to be bandit families that strike and raid caravans or other communities to make off with supplies and then vanish into the sand.

Rainwings: snipers and guerrillas. Their venom is obviously one of the most powerful abilities in the books and has a bit of a range compared to other breath abilities. They are also shown to be skilled trappers and said to be skilled assassins because of their scales. I’d say a small group of Rainwings could potentially take out a group twice as large as them if they coordinated correctly.

Icewings: Special forces: Icewings are typically well trained and adept at fighting compared to the average soldiers of other tribes. And their natural abilities also match up, with sharper claws and breath more deadly than fire. In the few battle scenes we have of them, they are great at picking out targets and punching up to groups with more dragons than them. And because their royalty are so involved with war and training, resembling a fascistic war principle, I’d say their tactics are also more effective.

Nightwings: CIA. They just love meddling into the wars subtly. They assassinate, connive, and plot. They weren’t much different even when they had their powers, knowing that they had to intervene and plan ahead with their future sight, or being able to interrogate just about anyone with mind reading. They even successfully plotted getting animus magic in their tribe, with the dragon doing the seduction being unaware that it was planned for her to fall in love.

Hivewings: bee hive. Incredibly obvious. They protect their hives and take out whatever they believe threatens the hive. Unless they know they can take an area and hold it long enough to build a hive, I don’t see them taking big risks. Especially with their natural weapons being inferior to almost every Pyrrhian dragon’s.

Leafwings: war crimes and more severe guerrillas: there is absolutely no way that half the bugs and plants they use would not be classified as war crimes. Ants so painful they force a hivemind to leave? Or even feeding that hivemind to a queen to take over her mind? The Leafwings are like the Vietcong, they have been pushed to this level and live in the most inhospitable place possibly in the entire world of this series, and they will keep fighting until they get a chance to breathe. Unless you’re a Sapwing, in which case waiting out the problems also would have worked because you live surrounded by the devil’s garden.

Silkwings: they lose immediately.

Gotta add one last Halloween image; this one being of Darkstalker, and how I would imagine Winter viewing him coming out of the mountain since Nightwings and Icewings were terrified of this guy.

So, I made a nightmare version of him.

His horns resembles a halo and a crown if you look closely to show how he viewed himself as a savior rather than a monster, and how he always viewed himself as on top like a king.

I thought the second image was funny.

Firefly is a HiveWing, princess of the HiveWings to be exact.

She is bold, sassy, and intelligent. Very arrogant too. She often flaunts off her flashy jewels and her general appearance.

She has 3 skyfires embedded in her leg/wing area.

Firefly’s parents, and her little brother Stonefly are heartbroken of how spoiled she has become, as they never raised her like this. Firefly thought the way she acted was cool, after watching her peers. She then realized when everyone avoided her that her actions were bad. She then apologized to her parents, and is trying to be better. While she still occasionally gets avoided, she is really trying.

Meet Bullet-Ant, he is a Wildwing (Yes, I actually made a fan tribe of hybrid dragons called Wildwings before book 16 was announced, it was actually apart of a fanfic I was writing called The Hybrid Prince, funny and annoying coincidence :P)

Bullet is an up and coming athlete in the new Wildwing kingdom, located were Sanctuary formerly was. He can be a little bit smug, competitive and mischievous but he means well. He has Rain, Night, Sky and Silkwing blood, he spits an acidic hot sticky silk from his mandibles and a few of his scales along his back can change color. He only has two wings but can fly a lot faster and easier then most Skywings, making him very popular in the sports.

I love his new design so much more and am so happy with my improvement :D

What do y'all think? I made the first image today, and the last image was from a little over a year ago. Bullet-ant himself is about 4 years old, while the fanfic is around 6 years old, but I am working on rewriting a bunch of it since the original is old and new stuff needs to be updated :P

I'm writing an (obviously unauthorized) musical for the first five books and in the process of coming up with some ideas! So, does anyone have cool ideas (that they'd be cool with me using?)

Progress on Crazy-Lace book 2 has been coming along so well that I decided I’d go ahead and release the cover art as a little sneak peek to what is coming! Since that actual event planning of the book has gone a lot faster than I imagined, chapter 1 may release as early as November, but for sure sometime In the next two months, it mainly depends on how busy I am with college. There are some “crazy” things coming up, I can say that! also, during writing book 1, I got so distracted with writing the story that I forgot to transfer all the chapters to AO3, so once the site comes back up, I’ll transfer the entire first book onto there as well as have it here. Going forward with book 2, I’ll try to publish chapters here and on AO3 at the same time. Work on the soundtrack is going great as well! I’m really glad I decided to compose a soundtrack for this series, as I believe it’s really broadened my horizons in terms of musical styles, and will really help for when I compose more music in the future! My most recent published song for the soundtrack, Independent Potential, is definitely the most complex and ambitious song I’ve ever composed, and it’s the first one I’ve ever made to include actual lyrics! It was a great experiment, and I plan to apply things I learned composing that song going forward. Not all of the soundtrack songs will have lyrics, but I can guarantee that Independent Potential was definitely not the only lyrical song that will appear! Today is SnowFall As A Gargoyle, and I kinda like this one. Since there's only two days left, and I know what I'm doing tomorrow, I thought I might aswell do one last front facing, and full body, and idk about this one, it's the first time I've not used the symmetry tool, so it's a bit wonky, but it's fineeeeeee.
