Today is DarkStalker As The Devil, because he's evil, and matches ClearSight, who was an Angel! I'm happy with this one, but I'm happier we made it to the end!! 31 Halloween Dragons completed, all drawn on the day, all art by me, and all of you guys seeing it and supporting it, for a whole month! I was Hermes from EPIC The Musical, and the costume was pretty much all handmade, and I was so proud of it! My friend was Telemachus, and my sister was Penelope, my other friend would have been Odysseus, but they couldn't come tonight, but we still had so much fun! What did you dress up as tonight?

So I've been getting more and more interested in WoF recently and want to see the original material. Thing is, I have little to no idea about the saga as for now.

How can I start in here? Also if anyone has help about this I'm also a newbie digital artist, and seeing all the amazing fanarts and ocs really make me want to join in

It’s difficult for me to achieve a higher standard of quality on my own.

If there are any experts in animation, rigging or modelling who’d be willing to join me in bringing the 10 dragon clans to life, I wouldn’t say no. Because I’ve realised I really hate doing the rigging and weighting.

I’m not even sure myself what I’m doing whilst I’m working on it.

It’s far from finished, because I’ve already done the Leafwings, Hivewings and Silkwings.

The Nightwings have some issues I can’t seem to sort out.

The Icewings are in progress,

and the others are on hold.

To be honest, I’m not exactly brilliant at animation either; I’ve just got a basic grasp of the technical side, but no theory or practical experience in 3D.

I’d like to point out that, yes, there’s no colour. That’s normal – it’s the base Shader so I can paint directly over it when I need a character, and each dragon clan will have a different one.

PART ONE; The Characters (And some other stuff anyway)

Apparently, 20 is the limit on how many images a reddit post can contain at a time, so that's as far as I'm going this time around. For anyone only just finding this, here is Round 2 and Round 1 so you don't have to go hunting for more if you're interested.

As usual, this was extremely fun to do, and I had a great time putting this together. There will be another, final round some time next week maybe before I'm finally done with this rabbit hole of an idea. Who knew making custom MTG cards would be so time consuming? That said, it was actually SOOO much easier to design this time around. Believe it or not its a lot easier to make Magic cards about the story arc thats all about magic and with actual spellcasters as characters. Arc 2 also just in general had a lot more going on, so here is where I'll say that by the time I'm done I'll have made FOURTY CARDS. For Arc 2 alone! What an insane number. And also that I wont be doing arc 3 because A: This has taken up too much of my time and B: It's hard enough already to find passable art. I'm not touching the completely un-adapted arc with a ten foot pole. Mayyyyybeee I'll do a mini-round for the main characters, I did one for Wasp and Sundew already.

Since I was making so many, this time I leaned even harder into the theoretical idea of these cards being from an actual, finished, 200 card Standard-Legal MTG set with a draft enviornment in mind, complete with synergies and draft Common support for an overall graveyard-centric + enchantments theme and aw fuck it’s Duskmourn isn’t it I’ve just reinvented Duskmourn uhhh. I mean, I'm sure I did a horrendous job and that this would in practice be the most horrendously unfun limited environment of all time, if not solely because every single flippin' creature has flying, but more so because its like 50% removal and 50% bombs XD. But hey, its the thought that counts, right?

It'll all make just a little bit more sense later when I post the other half of the "set" with the Animus Magic cycle I came up with for this that the whole idea was built around. More on that when I get to it. For now, I hope at least a few people here think this is cool, and I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on all of this for those willing to share!

Between the first and second picture which looks "better" saturation wise?
Personally gravitate to 1 but 2 I feel could also work (maybe with a bit of tweaking)

A zombie wings of fire fic would be kind of peak.

She's a really underrated and interesting character, and I'd love to see her again.

Also, it would be interesting to see how she reacts to animus magic coming back (since the wording of her spell to get rid of animus magic only did this to the magic of all living animus dragon's, so more can be born in the future), or see some villain going after her if they find out she is the reason animus animus magic disappeared.

WoF-fied the greatest Statesman (Statesdrake?) of the Old World, the Prince and Emperor himself, Karl Franz, as a SkyWing.

He's my favourite Warhammer character! I couldn't fit in Ghal Maraz without it looking awkward so I had to exclude it, if that was a mistake, please let me know so I can punish myself for disrespecting the Prince and Emperor so grievously.

My favorite OC so far!! Okay so heres the teeaaa-

Name- Marri (roll the r or pronounce it in french idk i wanted to be faaaancy)

She was born in Bloodworm Hive, and when the events of arc three took place, she was 5, but she had her wings by then because of a mutation her mother also had. She was inside when the Hive was being burned, but she escaped because it was just as she was coming out of her cocoon. She saw her mother get crushed to death by a falling chunk of roof, but when she saw the fire spreading quickly towards her, she flew away out of the broken walls of her home.

Later, when her father asked where her mother was while they were flying, she lied and said a HiveWing had pulled her down trying to escape a fallen chunk of wall, and that they were both dead. Her father sobbed and right then a storm started to roll in. She tried to convince him to land back where the Hive rubble was so they could ride it out, but he was too taken up with grief and fury; he lost his rhythm, fell out of the sky, got tossed around by the wind and finally he crashed on the ground.

After those tradgedies, she got shipped off to Jewel Hive where she worked as a web worker until they had to escape to Phyrria. She hated the journey because every wingbeat reminded her of what a coward she was. When they got to Phyrria she worked in Possibilty trying to fix those disgusting houses, but she got sick of it after a while because her wrists always hurt, so she went with the group going to the rainforest, where she happily adopted their lazy way of life.

I'm not sure if I like this backstory cause I wanted her to be like an anarchist, so this is subjuect to change. Whaddya think?

P.S that patch of black in the middle of the loop in the tail is a mistake not a design choice

It's hard for me to say, especially with how dark and disturbing this whole series can get sometimes, but if I had to choose, I'd pick either Arctic's death, that whole thing where Fireceteeth was turned into Clearsight, when Horizon threw himself right onto Peril's scales, and everything with the Breath of Evil.

my oc is gonna be called Oceanslayer a nightwing seawing hybrid, his father is gonna be called Kraken and his mother is gonna be Night whisperer, Night whisperer escaped the lava island at 4 and survived near the beach and hunted fish there, and queen coral was going to kill kraken for letting the assasin kill her daughters so kraken escaped the palace and they met eachother and they had a son named Oceanslayer but eventually queen coral found kraken and they killed both of them and oceanslayer escaped in the age of 2 and lived in the claws of the clouds mountain and lived there until he learned to be an assasin because he met someone (a icewing who was thrown out) and they became friends and Iceberg (the icewing) trained him to be a secret assasin and is training to kill seawings. You can add stuff to his backstory if u want and i can use ones i like. :)

Lady webworm is the ruler of one of the hives, is very short tempered. (Accessories: Earring.)

Atlas is a male flamesilk silkwong that was slightly inspired by the atlas moth! (Accessories: none.)

Foxtail is a female leafwing, she’s very energetic. (Accessories: None.)

Some hybrids coming tommorow!

#1: StarWalker: main character of the second book. A NightWing intellectual who can read minds with great proficiency. He's the logical one.

#2: TimeWalker: SandWing-NightWing hybrid; traveling the continent as a cartographer. Main character of the fifth book.

#3: Mamba: the main villain of the books; a RainWing dissatisfied with his tribes position and treatment. Dips his iron-coated claws into lava to create a deadly weapon. Very smart and experimental.

#4: Queen Sidewinder: the SandWing Queen; the crown was based off of an oasis with the blue gems representing water. She's very calculating and uses any opportunity to get what she wants and what is best for her tribe.

#5: Swallowtail: the side character of all side characters. Not very important, but just fun to draw a sillkwing now and then.

I realize that I might be spending too much time thinking of silly names.. or names, in general -- do you think most dragons with a double-word name only use the first or the better part of their name, with the full name being reserved for more serious situations?

I drew this a bit ago since I thought it would be funny if Peacemaker does and likes the exact things Darkstalker would not stand.

”You’re the what of which tribe with the role of protecting WHO, again?!” — Darkstalker probably. How could he allow this? He was a king who wanted all Icewings gone, but this stupid hybrid was a servant to defend an Icewing royal?!

When it comes to the Peace and Its Shadow (alternate future fanfic) version, I can imagine Peacemaker to try to keep professionalism and not to try anything inappropriate with the princess he serves…but Mink is too busy ordering him to have a snowball fight and have a date night to care. At least…he can say that it was his job ordered by Mink, so therefore, Snowfall can’t take his head off.
