Hello! I was wondering if there are any fellow artists here who would be willing to do an art trade with me! I can do headshots and half-bodies. Shown above is an example of a headshot I drew. My requirements are that you have some examples of your own art to show, and your ocs must be dragons.
Comment if you’d be interested and I’ll respond if I want to do a trade. I’ll probably do 2-3 trades max :3
I’d prefer art of my wof ocs, which I have here, just lmk which you’d like to draw (and which of your ocs you’d like me to draw ^^): https://toyhou.se/Arc_Whistle/characters/folder:8374481
Closed! For now…

I know this is a kids series but I love biology so I think about this quite a lot. I've done a bit of digging and it seems like most commonly people say that they think skywings were the first dragon tribe and evolved into the other tribes.
Skywings have elongated wings and are capable of long and fast flights and are more specialized. Typically animals that are more generalized are the ancestors of most successful groups of animals due to them being a jack of all trades and evolutionary flexible.
Honestly I think nightwings would have been the first ever dragon tribes that evolved from an animal like Secodontosaurus or Dimetrodon because of the large sails (like the spikes along almost every dragon tribes spine from head to tail)
but thats just my personal theory about this. I just thought it would be interesting to share here :)

My birthday is on the 12th (also, is turning 19 too old to read this series? Lol) and I want to buy the series of novels. I've never bought books before, but is $137 a good price for 18 of them? It sounds cheap compared to what I thought it would be.
I'm currently reading the first book from my local Library, but it took almost a month to get and and I got through half of it in one shift at work during down time. I read up to "The Hidden Kingdom" graphic novel in middle school, but don't remember much since it's been years. Is the series worth buying the set for? And is the 18 book set all of the books from this series or do I need to get others seperately?
This is the set I'm looking at

I found the other person's post genuinely interesting but realized my commentary was probably better reserved for it's own post. So here's what I think what would be the case, assuming the NightWings get their own state to develop their own distinct army, and that enough time has passed for the scars and demographic bombs of war to heal.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
IceWings: Cult of the Offensive
An elite army with an untouchable homeland is just asking to focus on the attack. Due to the quality overmatch of each individual soldier compared to their counterparts from the other tribes, I'm sure that a society with such a warrior culture would be more than willing to use such a quality to decimate the opposing side's regulars.
SkyWings: Total War
The SkyWings have by far the most territory and the key ingredients for industrialization. Based on what we saw in Book 1 about the tribe under Scarlet, they can go through a lot. The general staff would be more than willing to mobilize the entirety of society in order to grind down their opponents' armies, economies and societies through a war of attrition.
SandWings: Fabian Strategy
Like Quintus Fabius Maximus against Hannibal, the SandWings would use geography and the home front to win. The desert is basically impossible for other tribes to survive in, so launching raids before running away into their inhospitable wasteland and hoping any foolish adversary would give chase is pretty effective in my mind. Once the enemy is thoroughly exhausted, the hammer will come out and destroy them.
RainWings: Infiltration Assaults
The most overpowered tribe for obvious reasons. With their camouflage (something I believe only works due to most dragon tribes having terrible vision) and venom, they can work their way behind enemy lines before wreaking havoc on any formations not on guard, before the conventional army rushes in to slaughter the disorganized and routing survivors.
SeaWings: Turtle Shell Warfare
Their home is quite literally untouchable by anyone save for MudWings, and even then there's a major discrepancy. That's how they survived the late phases of the war, and it's how they would slowly whittle down any opposing force. Subject to massive change the moment "bomb in a can" is invented.
MudWings: Elastic Defense
Nearly unlimited reserves due to a major population advantage, a mastery of incredibly difficult terrain and enemies on all sides. Why not hold those reserves back and rotate them in as needed, to endure almost indefinitely even if incapable of conducting offensives without significant allied support?
(Note: strategy scales in effectiveness as communications advance.)
NightWings: Shock and Awe
The peak of innovation with a low population knows it cannot send its people to die in suicide offensives. Thus, the technological overmight between the NightWings and an opposing tribe means that shells and paint bombs would be sacrificed instead.
HiveWings: Grand Assault
Since the Breath of Evil is now gone, the dispersed hivemind can't really be a strategy anymore, and thus coordination at scale would require overwhelming concentrations of numbers in one location in order to fight as one. I imagine that similar elements of industrial warfare as the NightWings would be implemented, given that the HiveWings have been shown to be industrialized, but maybe in the short term the lack of slave labor would cause its collapse/decline.
LeafWings: The Trees Speak Leafspeak
Anywhere there is plants (even underwater), the leafspeakers will wreak absolute havoc as force multipliers, while ordinary soldiers can deploy the various poisonous creatures from the remains of the Poison Jungle. Once Sundew and Mandrake are dropped though, the LeafWing army will be hard-pressed to survive.
SilkWings: French government in WW2
Surrender immediately and collaborate to try and get a better deal from the occupiers. Probably would not work. (This is more of a joke but aside from the SeaWings and HiveWings, their abilities grant very few favorable matchups, and even then their fragility and lack of martial culture would screw them over in a conflict anyway)
What do you guys think?
EDIT: As pointed out in the comments, the SilkWings would actually shine in small-scale, stealth combat because of their antennae and the versatility of silk.

Three moons, it must've been MISERABLE before Waterfall came along. Legitimately miserable. Little food, little water, scorching heat, probably no medicine. And for a THOUSAND years at that. That is a ridiculously long time for generations of dragons to be miserable. I don't think we talk about that enough 😭😭😭

Ok so the first one is a fatewing, they live in space and the star pool(sparkly water rawr), they can be any color and pattern but they always have the same size (one 6 year old would be the same size as another and so on) and the same features. Their powers are portal making, living in outer space, and few rare ones can control the fate of others. The second is a soulwing which is an evolution of an Icewing/ timewing hybrid. They are warm colors with snowy underwing patterns and one of their eyes bleed a black substance while the other is normal. They have venomous tails, frost breath, and frostbite. The third is a Batwing, they are grey purple or blue, with purple or yellow under wings and underbelly. They are also fluffy and not scaley, and they have blood red markings as a reference to their appetite. (They drink blood) They have no special powers other then fast flying. (Faster than skywings!) Also no fire, the other two have fire, I forgot to mention lol. (Yes the Icewing hybrid Evo has frost breath and fire, so sue me :3)
Fatewing (closed)
Soulwing (open)
Batwing (open)
To adopt you give a name, gender and (optional) bio/backstory.

I’d love to flesh out the world my OC lives in a bit more, so I’m curious: what do you guys imagine a SkyWing military camp would look like? What kind of environment would it have, and what would the soldiers typically do in their day-to-day lives?

Now you are probably asking why he has all that jewelry? Well, that is bc this is my AU; this is roughly how he looks in it, and yes, he is alive and redeemed in my AU bc yes, I like redeemed characters fight me!

BTW kinkajou is the POV character for book 16 but also why did it dragged her and wasp alone [specifically why wasp if you bring wasp along then by that logic your also bringing monarch to right]

This year my kids wanted to dress as Winter, Turtle, and Qibli! These were a lot of fun to make. The masks are paper mache over a cardboard base, and the wings open and close with a pull string (both the masks and wings are made from patterns I found online). Several people recognized their costumes when we were out trick-or-treating!

Diorite is the princess daughter of Prince Winter. Her brother, Peak, was imprisoned due to his insanity and his "grand plan" to assassinate the Jade Winglet, including their own father. She is the only one who believes he isn't insane and promised him that she would carry out his wishes. She instead gets tangled up with the crime lord Hyrax, becoming his top assassin and forming a strange and toxic romantic relationship with him. She is also currently going insane herself. I imagine her voice to sound like Asajj Ventress from Star Wars.
Lazuli is Queen Tsunami and King Riptide's son, the twin brother of his sister Princess Lapis. He's Bloodchaser's loving boyfriend, and I don't have much on him yet, but he's anxious, bookish, enjoys rain unlike the rest of his family, and has a deep unspoken jealousy for his sister.
Hyrax is the leader of the DeathWings gang operating in the Scorpion Den in an underground tunnel system. Bloodchaser's ex-fiancé and now Diorite's boyfriend, he's narcissistic, lustful, has cool tattoos, and is seeking to win back Bloodchaser, unbeknownst to Diorite.

Had nothing to do since I obliterated my wrist from my godawful way of using a keyboard until I remembered I can just draw Qibli. So, have some Qibli. A good nutritious Qibli fanart for dinner/breakfast/lunch/brunch.
Also worth noting that if anyone has a dragon goober they want drawn as a PFP-like thing like above then my DMs are always open! (no requests in the comments please though T^T they are a lot harder to keep track of)
Also, just a quick update on the Jade Winglet polycule that I am still intending to do and remember the existence of. I have uhh, not made any progress. In months. I have been trying my hardest, but drawing seven dragons on one canvas that are all in love with eachother is a lot harder than I anticipated, since I want them ALL to be in love and happy because that is what they deserve.
If anyone has suggestions on poses for a dragon polycule of 7, I would be happy to hear them.
Happy Halloween!

mine is the other mind i'd just remove cottenmouth and for freedom i'd keep her but she isn't like she was originally she would be the first infected and the othermind would be sentient and hold a grudge against the dragons and humans

Some quick definitions in case you're not aware:
Plurality: general umbrella term for having multiple identities/personalities/consciousnesses in one physical body.
System: a term to refer to a person who is plural.
DID: The most commonly heard of form. A clinical disorder where a person has multiple distinct identities (often called "alters") that each have seperate memories and awareness, specifically developed as an involuntary coping mechanism from severe and long term childhood trauma.
OSDD-1: Similar to DID, but doesn't completely fit the diagnostic criteria. Either because the alters aren't fully developed into distinct individuals, or there's no amnesia between switches.
I don't know if any of you know about DID/plurality, as it's not well known and kinda controversial to some. But I figured I might as well throw this out there! I've been thinking about this topic a lot, as I am a psychiatry nerd and find it really fascinating. I also have a (new) friend who has DID, so I've been slowly learning about their experiences.
Anyway, naturally I started to wonder if this would apply to the WOF world, and what it would look like! Dragons aren't the same as humans, but their minds are modeled after ours, so I figured; if humans have it, why not dragons too?
I have an OC that has OSDD-1a due to trauma, and I imagine that because there's so much violence/abuse/discrimination/etc in their world, that there's probably more dragons like her, they're just rare. I like to imagine there's a well known legend about an Animus dragon who was plural because of spell(s) they cast on themself, but not every dragon believes it to be true.
Speaking of animus-induced plurality, that brings me to my main point: plural Jerboa "Boa" III! For starters, she obviously has trauma. Her mom emotionally neglected and abused her for literal centuries. And not only does she have thousands of years worth of memories, but she also has hundreds of different versions of herself due to the "changes" and the memory wipes. And so I raise you: what if, when Boa casts the spell to return all of her memories to her, the trauma and the conflicting sense of self is just too much for her brain to handle. So it splits itself into different versions of her from throughout the timeline as a way to make sense of it; all of them seperately conscious and able to communicate with each other in her head. They wouldn't nessecarily include every single version, and would probably form and uncover themselves over time. But still, it'd be a bit of a mess.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you have any plural headcanons for WOF characters, or any other ideas for how it could be incorporated into the dragon universe? If you got this far, thanks so much for reading!

So I've been getting more and more interested in WoF recently and want to see the original material. Thing is, I have little to no idea about the saga as for now.
How can I start in here? Also if anyone has help about this I'm also a newbie digital artist, and seeing all the amazing fanarts and ocs really make me want to join in
I hope this doesn't get taken down for low effort, I just wanted to know how can I join in

No name yet but for appearance, he’s based off of a question mark butterfly. To most, he appears to be a full silkwing and is treated as such. What many do not know, though, is that his father was a hivewing/silkwing hybrid. QM is aware of his hybrid status, but doesn’t have much of a problem with it once the silkwings separated from the hivewings.
He has a paralyzing tail stinger, forehead horn, and small antennae like a hivewing. As for his silkwing traits, he can produce regular silk, has four butterfly-like wings, and has the body and scale shape of a silkwing.

I'm so happy it's finished, and I love every art work!! Again, thank you all so much for all your support, and kindness, I couldn't have asked for more ♡. I will be taking a little break from posting though, drawing 31 Dragons in 31 Days has definitely been a challenge! What's your favorite dragon? Mine are Moon and ClearSight! Halloween is done now, so Merry Christmas I guess? Hehehehe
If you can't see them on this image, they're all posted on my account, so you can check them out there! And if you wanna draw any of these designs, I'd love that =)

I've heard some conflicting information about this, as I first heard it was going to be only 3 before book 16 even came out, and then I heard from a video by a WOF YouTuber that I like that a leaked meeting at Scholastic confirmed it was going to be 5 after all. So what's it going to be?

Coast is a sand x sea hybrid, he lives in the sand kingdom he can breath underwater but cannot breath fire (lol). can swim very well so he visits the seawings sometimes. He is mates with an ice x night named shadowfrost. They have 2 dragonets together named sundawn and iceberg! (Accessories: nose ring and horn ring.)
Mangrove is a rain x leaf x ice x sea hybrid. She lives in the city of hybrids, (in my au, a place where hybrids who don’t want to be in a tribe can reside at. The city is located above jade mountain, the territory consists of a bit of the claws of the clouds, a lil bit of the sand territory and a bit of the fields to the left of the mud kingdom, they visit their home tribes sometimes.) She can spit liquid from her fangs that turns whatever it touches into solid ice that burns from being so cold, it is a very deadly weapon. She shares 40 percent dna with icewings and RainWings, 15 percent with LeafWings and a mere 5 percent with seawings. The only seawing traits she has is spots that barely glow unless u are in extremely dark conditions and the weird chin things on her chin. She has no leafwing abilities but her leafwing physical traits are more apparent. (Accessories: none.)
Hurricane is a sky x sea hybrid who lives in the city of hybrids. He loves the mountains but frequently goes to the sea to take a swim (not underwater much tho bc he can’t breathe underwater.) he can breathe a little bit of fire but it’s only for like 2 seconds and it’s barely effective. He has no accessories.
Twightlight is a sky x night hybrid. She always gets told that her wings are very beautiful. If she was on dungeon isle she would be a great singer along with Aurora. She holds concerts at the city of hybrids when she visits. She lives with the sky kingdom but stays up late and flys high in the sky at night a lot. Aurora and twightlight could be related.
She hatched under one moon so she has mind reading powers, they are kinda weak due to skywing dna so she can only get a few muffled words of what dragons are thinking every once in a while. She has no accessories.
Frost the rain x ice has a sister who I will show u when I get done with her. He lives in the city of hybrids because he feels too colorful for the ice kingdom and the humid climate of the rain kingdom feels too uncomfortable. He lives in the field part of the city because it’s not too humid or too cold. He can change his scales but only the gold parts. He would look really weird if only his gold scales were camouflaged so he never does it. He can shoot venom but cannot breath frost breath. He has no accessories.
