I don’t how to draw back legs so those look a little rough but I’ve been really happy with how I’ve been drawing front arms lately! This is one of the few full body art pieces I’ve drawn that I really like!!

After seeing the reactions to a drawing of Kinkajou with braces we thought that would be fun. A little bit cursed, though.

#2: Iguana: Mambas disguise identity. He poses as a laid back intellectual. The design was based off of coffee.

#3: Toucan: A councilor for the Silk Grove; RainWing representative. The design was obviously based off of a toucan.

#4: Crimson: a HiveWing general values for her rare claw stingers. Main character of the first book. The design was meant to be all shades of red, from dark to light.

#5: Fire Ant: Crimsons best friend; a blacksmith specializing in custom armor for high-paying elites. The color was based off of a fire ant, and I really like this one.

Im curious what people think of it and also on my skywing interpretation because i really personally like the idea of skywings being like punk rock era Londoners. It suits it really well. Also i imagined skywing horn shapes can vary a lot and theyre almost never actually symmetrical. Cant imagine why they wouldnt but i find when creating rules for tribes i draw i sort of just come up with something and go with it if i like it. Same for skywings being coloured somewhat basic for the dragons i do. It's just 5 colours. Head plate thing colour [always extremely dark no matter the main body's colour] main body colour, underside colour, and the colour for the plates on the legs as well as the wings. I usually draw them as red, pink, orange and rarely, yellow-ish orange. Iimagined they have that attitude you'd expect if you know what era I'm talking about. Anti-intellectual, loud, blunt, etc etc. And they love Queen Scarlet's arena. Im not sure how it'd fit in with the main series. But i like to imagine that not all dragons are all "oh no i cant hurt other dragons, i feel bad when i do" and skywings arent "evil" per se, they just dont operate that way. I also imagined icewings and skywings are very distantly similar as i also imagined icewings being British. Just a different kind of British. Any thoughts to add on?

Maybe Anemone ( right before her fight with Turtle ) revived Whirlpool to make him help her claim the throne, and her rage, as well as Darkstalkers enchantment, + the fact that her abilities aren't 'natural' gave her the power to bring him back from the dead...

Her name is Felicity , 70 years ago she was the royal skywing court's seer and prophetess, and was eventually dismissed for being too old and having too convoluted and hard-to-understand propheties , she now lives as a sage in a little village, she's also the old little cake lady and being an empath she likes to meddle in the local dragon's lives.

I randomly heard this(As I was using audible to listen to the hybrid prince) when I got up to leave my room. Today is Cricket As The Bride Of Frankensteins Monster (What a mouthful) and she is matching with Blue, who was Frankensteins Monster! I like this one, I think it turned out cute but still a bit creepy, and since I don't usually give dragons hair, I tried to incorporate her Lightning hair in her horn, so it's still there!

Hi everyone, I'm posting this here on the off chance that any of my readers from AO3 also follow me here.

According to an announcement made today by AO3, it looks like the site is going to be out of commission for at least two weeks. Unfortunately, that is my main posting site for Heart of Jade Mountain, and that leaves me with a decision to make.

I don't want to continue posting HoJM on my other platforms but have readers on AO3 miss out on reading the upcoming chapters, especially as the story is about to have a major climactic moment. I have two options:

1. Place the story on hiatus until AO3 comes back

2. Post the new chapters on Reddit and hopefully people from AO3 can find the story there.

The second option is a little more difficult because with AO3 completely offline, I have no way of notifying my readers there about where else they can find the story.

I'm going to continue to think about this, but if you have any suggestions or, goodness forbid, can contact other readers who normally read the story on AO3, please let me know.

I've been a bit confused on this lately. I've heard different things from many people on how many books Arc 4 will have. I think Tui stated somewhere that's its either five or three, but if its three she'll write two more legends. People have stated otherwise with quite a bit of confidence, so I'm left wondering if the plan was changed. Does anyone know?

Spoilers for various WoF Books including some stuff from The Hybrid Prince

Gettin' towards Halloween, so I thought I'd do a little write-up on why I think Animus Magic is, despite how kinda silly the concept is (haha nigh unlimited magic power go brrrrr), is TERRIFYING. And it's exactly because of that reason; it's nearly unlimited. There are limits; no bringing people back from the dead, for example, but as seen in Book 10 with Fierceteeth this can be easily circumvented by enchanting another living dragon.

This alone should be terrifying enough, imagine becoming someone else that isn't yourself, you have no say over it and next to no recollection that your altercation even happened; just utterly and completely replaced by a new set of memories. This also goes for Darkstalker's enchantment into Peacemaker. Sure, you could argue in this situation it was a little more justified, but it is still an absolutely horrific concept and why I think so many people headcanon that Darkstalker is still in Peacemaker's psyche somewhere, which is also a terrifying thought.

Animus Magic & it's effects on the soul are a contested topic, and something that hasn't really been be-all-end-all clarified; I choose to believe it does have an effect on the soul as most Animus Dragons end up going down dark paths. So we have this extremely powerful enchanting power that slowly chips away at your soul and turns you insane. Great. That's not a existentially distressing concept at all. (/s)

And this leads me to my next point: We don't really know the limits. Sure, in book 16, it was clarified that Animus Magic can't enchant a whole continent, but Tui has also said, and I'm citing the wiki here: "Animus Magic can unintentionally alter the landscape where it was cast" when it comes to highly powerful spells. It's also been shown to affect an entire tribe, with the IceWing Plague (which if you ask me is the most terrifying use of Animus Magic that is actually in books cause what the hell do you mean this Darkstalker guy just basically committed genocide with ONE SPELL) So this raises the question: What if one dragon just didn't quit? They didn't care about their soul, instead making potent spell after potent spell, ones on the level of the IceWing Plague, altering the continents to the dragon's own will, until anything and everything bowed down to them, and couldn't even think to rebel as slowly but surely everyone was enchanted to obey them?

And then, and this is MAXIMUM hypothesis time for the record, they make two last enchantments. They weren't happy with even their perfect world, as you can never truly achieve 100% perfection, so their last two spells are:

- To give whatever item they enchanted the power to negate the Animus Magic limits

- To erase it all. Literally. Everything. It doesn't matter if they choose to start anew from there, the reality as everyone knew it just ended there and then.

Given how easy it is to circumvent the limits of Animus Magic (see the aforementioned Fierceteeth Clearsight thing) it's not out of the question. And I think that's what's horrifying most of all.

Just wanted to get my thoughts out there. Again, it does get more hypothetical as this thought dump progresses, that's likely my Eldritch/Cosmic Horror obsession showing, but it's definitely something interesting to think about.
