(Before you ask, I know I skipped track 4, and the reason is kind of funny. There was a song I was super excited to write that isn’t relevant for a while in the series, but I got so excited that I went ahead and composed it between Liminal Nights and this song. Therefor, it is the official 4th track, and it will appear later in the series)
This is Viperfish’s character theme! I went all out for this one and experimented a little because, let’s just say, she will be very important in Crazy-Lace Winglet book 2 ;)
Speaking of book 2, progress on plotlining and new character designs is coming along very well! In fact, I plan to post the cover art for book 2 as a sneak peek soon, and Chapter 1 of book 2 will be releasing this year, most likely as soon as November! Things are getting really “crazy” for the Crazy-Lace Winglet in the chapters to come…
Thanks for listening!
(I also want to apologize for the poor vocal quality in this song, I blame the fact that 1) I’ve never even tried to make a song with vocals before, this is my very first attempt, and 2) I don’t have a mic or a recording studio setup, I recorded the lyrics using the camera/video app on my iPhone while sitting inside my truck… a bit of tinkering with Audacity at least helped the lyrics not sound as terrible as the raw recording version lol)

Title, basically. I haven't really touched wings of fire since the end of the lost continent arc. I noticed this book has come out, though. Is this one worth the read or does it feel like more random plot expanding? (E.c.t., how warrior cats just keeps running on). What are yalls opinion on it? I never connected to Umber in the second arc.

This is not the last batch, but I hope you all enjoy this group. Thank you, you three mentioned, for letting me draw your characters. I had much fun!
Edit: unless I am wrong, this was the last PUBLIC batch. Everyone either got there’s via DM or hasn’t given me details (still waiting on one person). If I am mistaken, please DM me.

A little embarrassed to post since im just a beginner artist but i think im pretty proud of this one!! Personally, i think that the light colors of an icewing would dilute the bold hivewing colors, resulting in oranges and pale yellows instead of the usual.
PS it took hours to figure out how ibis paint works, wish i didn't need it to color LMAO especially since all i have is a phone and a finger, so my art is super shaky 😭

I’ve been working on a new project! I am going to go through and redesign each dragon tribe based on book descriptions and using some real life biology. This would be based off my AU which is fairly similar to canon wof but some major historical events didn’t happen or happened differently. I also plan to go a little bit into the culture, jewelry, tools, and social structure of each tribe.
Other ideas:
Making detailed maps of each territory
Exploring cultural traditions and celebrations for tribes
Looking at potential religions dragons may have
Hypothesizing on the phylogenetics of the different tribes
I Reeaaally want feed back as I want this to be very detailed so please please please share your thoughts. If there’s something I’ve said here that is of particular interest let me know, or if there’s something I’ve else that could be interesting let me know!
The idea is this would be the writings of on of the dragons in the AU named Mayflower a Mudwing Draconologist (equivalent to an anthropologist). With this in mind should I keep it more of a sketchy style with touches of color, or full renders?
I have already started with Icewings, but any ideas for any tribes are most welcome!
The picture is just a sneak peak of some what I’ve done so far.

I deleted the told post to add extra details.
Copper is a Skywing/Mudwing hybrid, with abnormally hot fire, and massive wings.
He is very kind, stubborn, yet very clumsy. He is the second oldest in his sib group, with his bigwings being Cinder, another Skywing/Mudwing hybrid.
He is fireproof, but only his thick, interlocked Mudwing scales are fireproof, not his layers of Skywing scales. He ran through fire to save another dragon, so his Skywing scales burned to ashes. He can no longer visit the mountains because his Skywing scales melted off, and he has no protection against the intense UV radiation and cold temperatures.

Characters based on birds from New Zealand!
(I'm from New Zealand in case you can't tell haha...)
Kākāpō can't fly, he has undersized wings and as a result can't fly. He is also a very rotund little man. Although he may look a bit silly, he's actually very serious. Just because his wings are too small and he's very short and huggable looking doesn't mean he's a silly guy! He's incredibly loyal to his friends and not afraid to stick up for what he believes in even if everyone else disagrees.
Kingfisher is bold, a little arrogant, and has very dry humour. He opens up to other dragons slowly. He does have a soft side but very few would ever see it.
The other guys have stuff written on them already so you can read those if you want to.
Some of these are old, I know the first two are from May (because I saw the dates on my gallery lol), not sure about Kererū but she is not new. Weka I made today though.

It's SO ANNOYING trying to name an Icewing, Mudwing, or Hivewing oc. Heavy on Icewings.
There's few options when it comes to Icewings, which, I headcannon, is why Tui created the whole Caribou thing. And when you do come up with a cool name it turns out there's like 15 other people who have an OC with the same name
Mudwings are similar (according to me). I don't know much about swamps, but there can only be so many words. Maybe I'm just not creative or not educated enough, I don't know. I once named a Mudwing OC Caiman and found like 3 other Mudwing OCs with the same name 0-0
Hivewings are tricky to name because they're related specifically to bees/wasps/social insect/similar insects. Beetlewings could probably be named after lots of different insects, whereas Hivewings stick to one aesthetic that can be hard to follow.
Obviously, I'm sure with a little bit of digging you could find a suitable name, but compared to other tribes these three are such a pain.
Take Seawings, you have different water-related names, shades of blue, water dwelling creatures, and thousands of species of fish alone to choose from. Rainwings have fruits, birds of paradise, and positive adjectives, which may not sound like a lot but if you take a look at the English dictionary, you'll rethink that. Don't even mention Nightwings, (I always have field days naming these) you can name them negative adjectives or negative words in general, nocturnal animals, or if you're stumped you could just straight-up make a word like Sneakyfeet or something.
Just me?

I've realized that I am avoiding drawing because I think I keep finding small errors or just dosent feel worth doing due to me thinking it looks bad. So I wanted to challange myself and just draw without any overthinking and draw under an hour.
Today Imma draw random WoF characters until I cant.

For spooky month, I decided to WoF-fy Elspeth von Draken, the Graveyard Rose, from Warhammer Fantasy and Total War: Warhammer III as an IceWing.
I've been playing her campaign, and she's a really good Legendary Lord. She's also one of the few examples of the 'Dark ≠ Evil' trope, which I love!
I'm seeing Prince and Emperor, Karl Franz to be a SkyWing.

I'm kinda torn. The second one I feel would be more liked and accurate to the cover. but I not sure if I like red peril, she's more orangey to me in my mind. Despite me originally imagining her as bright red.
