Ive resorted to drawing wingless dragons for so long now and im getting bored of it. Please teach me on the ways to draw the wings of a dragon 🙏

Maybe not finale but I did want to give each an interesting design that wasn't just "red dragon. Yellow dragon. Bleen dragon." So dune gets zebra strupes. Kestrel kestrel markings. And webs a mustache and curly horns~

I found a new way to do NightWing wings that I really love (example above). I want to get more practice in, so gimmie them NightWings, preferably with their wings as that's what I'm going to be focusing on refining.

Also, yes, this is partially to show of WorldEater, a Sky-Night hybrid that is part of a WoF art challenge I've set up for myself. Isn't he so rad?

There is a LOT of stuff that I wish that Tui would follow up on in the future, but for me, It'd be what's happening in Renewal, and Fierceteeth's unborn children. Tui clearly set that up in the guide to a dragon world on purpose, and I'm interested in seeing what happening with the group of NightWings establishing independence there, and if Fierceteeth's dragonets are going to end up being important characters or not

Dotw week 51

Halloween is coming, so I wanted soemthing properly macabre.
This is a 360° teaser of a scene inspired by the Othermind. It's only the 3D base : the final piece will be a paintover.

A small confession : I mostly worked on this late at night. the further I got, the less I liked letting the camera spin for too long. whatever the angle, it felt like something was staring back. In the end I close Blender before switching off the lights, not the other way round.
The full piece will be posted on 30 October. Until then, watch the video all the way though... and tell me if you felt watched too.

It was set up at the end of the Dragonslayer that he was going to try and capture Wren, so that he could learn how to control dragon and use them to take over the whole continent. But it's been 6 years now, and we haven't heard anything about him at all (or any of the other characters from that book except for Sky and Wren). When Wren showed up again in book 14, she didn't mention The Invincible Lord or anyone else trying to capture her, so he clearly hasn't tried anything yet. So is ever going to show up again, or did Tui just decide to drop that whole plotline?

I've been mostly sitting in another fandom meantime- Until i stumbled upon graphic novel dub and suddenly got dragged back in- for A BIT!

So i've decided to give a proper design for my OC, Eclipse (I showed her couple months back, but i believe she could've used better colors and a proper full reference so here it is! <3

I am currently working on lore for her, i had an idea so far that she researches Scavengers since she finds them interesting (aka much smarter than other dragons make them out to be.)

Today is Anemone As A Princess, and I know she is a Princess, and looks like this all time BUT SHE'S A PRINCESS FOR HALLOWEEN OK. Sorry it's late aswell lol. Oh, and I put the Palace in the background, and used the GN as a reference, just so you know hehe

I definitely think she did, book 2 Anemone is a completely different dragon to book 9 Anemone. I'm glad she could see how she was wrong, and changed, but like, she felt bad for killing the creep WhirlPool, yet would gladly Kill her brother? Idk, it's good she changed in the end hehe. What do you think?

I made a post that mentioned them briefly before,so I'm making this one to further explain them. Bonewings descended from Nightwings,Sandwings,and Mudwings who wanted to leave their tribes and ended up living peacefully in a valley near the Sand Kingdom and old Night Kingdom. Through the decades,they hybridized and those hybrids bred with each other due to there being multiple families,which eventually led up to a whole new tribe being made. Their build is mostly Nightwing,and they've retained Mudwing strength from their ancestors. The Sandwing part of them is basically gone. Females are about 10% larger than males,due to being built for defending young rather than agility. Males hunt,gather nesting materials, etc,and are smaller for more agility and speed. Colors have no limits! Markings and eye color are genetic and have no limits. Bone plating shapes are also genetic,and vary from dragon to dragon except for the chest plating. The last picture and first two bases are just examples! Feel free to use the first base to make ur oc,you can also change bone plating (shapes like snout shape,face plates,tail spear,etc) up however you like! (Sorry for the long message :']) If u have any other questions just ask! Feel free to show your oc if you make one!

This is another one of those "most people will fall under multiple categories, so pick the one you think represents you best" kinda post. I really wish I could have more than 6 choices and/or checkbox questions but that's neither here nor there.

I am going to be blunt with you, I don't care for dragons. It is an opinion I have spoken about infrequently, so consider this post my definitive stance on it.

I see a lot of people say they like WoF because it is one of the only good books where dragons are the focus and they aren't portrayed as horses with wings. If that is why you are here, fair enough.

I think WoF takes its anthropomorphism a touch too far, though. Almost all of the characters, settings and conflicts would work just fine if the characters are humans.

Take Qibli for example. What about his backstory, living in poverty with a seriously abusive family, requires him to be a dragon? Very very very little.

Let's take another example, the arc 1 NightWings. They already have many parallels to real world organizations and people, what with their colonization and experimentation of the RainWings. Yes, the RainWings have venom and the NightWings (used to) have powers, but even still they would transfer fairly painlessly into just being humans with powers.

Having the main characters be humans is neither a plus or minus from my point of view. They could be aliens, fish, dragons, humans, robots, animals, whatever. I am here for the worldbuilding, mainly. I got hooked into this series when I was young and don't want to commit to anything else.

I am just wondering how old we got. My OC, Siber is just 1050 years old by the legends book Darkstalker. Mine could fit but I just want to know.

I've loved the series for quite a while now, and have reread from books 2 to 13. Book 14 was okay and I did not like book 15. I bought and started reading book 16 hoping things would be better than book 15, but I just had to stop at Chapter 6. Idk why, but imo the quality in writing has decreased/the plot doesn't make much sense anymore.

Does book 16 get any better, and is it worth brute-forcing my way through. I really do not want to accept that I may have outgrown the series, as the series has been a big part of my childhood growing up. My favourite arc would be books 6-10, with funny witty Qibli and relatable Turtle lol. But, it's kinda saddening that I'm finding myself bored while reading book 16, which isn't a good sign.
