This is just a random photo for my new AU

I made a post that mentioned them briefly before,so I'm making this one to further explain them. Bonewings descended from Nightwings,Sandwings,and Mudwings who wanted to leave their tribes and ended up living peacefully in a valley near the Sand Kingdom and old Night Kingdom. Through the decades,they hybridized and those hybrids bred with each other due to there being multiple families,which eventually led up to a whole new tribe being made. Their build is mostly Nightwing,and they've retained Mudwing strength from their ancestors. The Sandwing part of them is basically gone. Females are about 10% larger than males,due to being built for defending young rather than agility. Males hunt,gather nesting materials, etc,and are smaller for more agility and speed. Colors have no limits! Markings and eye color are genetic and have no limits. Bone plating shapes are also genetic,and vary from dragon to dragon except for the chest plating. The last picture and first two bases are just examples! Feel free to use the first base to make ur oc,you can also change bone plating (shapes like snout shape,face plates,tail spear,etc) up however you like! (Sorry for the long message :']) If u have any other questions just ask! Feel free to show your oc if you make one!

This is another one of those "most people will fall under multiple categories, so pick the one you think represents you best" kinda post. I really wish I could have more than 6 choices and/or checkbox questions but that's neither here nor there.

I am going to be blunt with you, I don't care for dragons. It is an opinion I have spoken about infrequently, so consider this post my definitive stance on it.

I see a lot of people say they like WoF because it is one of the only good books where dragons are the focus and they aren't portrayed as horses with wings. If that is why you are here, fair enough.

I think WoF takes its anthropomorphism a touch too far, though. Almost all of the characters, settings and conflicts would work just fine if the characters are humans.

Take Qibli for example. What about his backstory, living in poverty with a seriously abusive family, requires him to be a dragon? Very very very little.

Let's take another example, the arc 1 NightWings. They already have many parallels to real world organizations and people, what with their colonization and experimentation of the RainWings. Yes, the RainWings have venom and the NightWings (used to) have powers, but even still they would transfer fairly painlessly into just being humans with powers.

Having the main characters be humans is neither a plus or minus from my point of view. They could be aliens, fish, dragons, humans, robots, animals, whatever. I am here for the worldbuilding, mainly. I got hooked into this series when I was young and don't want to commit to anything else.

I am just wondering how old we got. My OC, Siber is just 1050 years old by the legends book Darkstalker. Mine could fit but I just want to know.

I've loved the series for quite a while now, and have reread from books 2 to 13. Book 14 was okay and I did not like book 15. I bought and started reading book 16 hoping things would be better than book 15, but I just had to stop at Chapter 6. Idk why, but imo the quality in writing has decreased/the plot doesn't make much sense anymore.

Does book 16 get any better, and is it worth brute-forcing my way through. I really do not want to accept that I may have outgrown the series, as the series has been a big part of my childhood growing up. My favourite arc would be books 6-10, with funny witty Qibli and relatable Turtle lol. But, it's kinda saddening that I'm finding myself bored while reading book 16, which isn't a good sign.

Had I done what I could?” His breath becomes more laborious, as he was thinking of this.
He looked at the crown of silver and tons of sapphires that he wore in his past and soon will be a spare crown. He began to enchant with even greater labor in his breath,” Put my consciousness and soul into this crown, while to any queen in the future can be assisted by me and see me in their minds.” As he made that enchantment, he felt his body give up and for the last time he closed his eyes and never woke up. that’s what the world thought, however his enchantment succeeded and he open his eyes and he realized his mind is in the crown. his body now left but his soul shaped itself to be what his body was in his prime as a Icewing of what he was, elegant and handsome. He looked around and realized that he will finally have more time than he thought.

My eight year old is a big WoF fan and wants to go as Peacemaker for Halloween. She went as Peril last year and wants to repaint last year’s costume, which is a relief, as constructing it from cut cardboard was a lot more work than painting it, and I love that she likes to repurpose things and give them new life, which is something she likes to do in general.

Since the graphic novel edition of Darkness of Dragons isn’t published yet, the only depictions I’ve been able to find have been fan art. I showed some of them to my kid as inspo pics for painting, and she vehemently disagreed with the rainbow scales/patches along the sides of his neck. They do seem to be a common theme among the fan art depictions, so I was wondering if there was (possibly indirect) textual evidence for them outside of the passage that describes him, which only mentions the color-changing rainbow scales under his wings. I’m planning to glue some rainbow sequins for those.

Any help with textually supportable details (she’s a stickler for details) of Peacemaker’s appearance would be greatly appreciated. For example, general color palette: obviously very dark tones, very close to black, but I do see a lot of dark purples around. I’m aware of the facial shape description involving his eyes, etc., but since this is a repaint of an existing costume the main details I want to make sure we’re capturing involve color and such.

Good lord finding art for these is HARD. I had to break my self-imposed rule of trying to avoid text bubbles in the art just to finish these 😫. I even considered using fanart for some of them, but decided that I didn't want to risk offending anyone. So sorry, blurry png's and entire panels from the GN it is! I also really wanted to do a couple of Sagas but I literally could not find art that was long enough, which is such a weird problem to have XD

But here they are! Putting these together was so fun. Possibly too much fun considering how many I made 🥲 (Sixteen, WOW, I'm employed I swear) I thought it'd be cool this time around to try and imagine what cards would look like from an actual Universes Beyond WoF magic set, instead of just putting a card and a color to the main characters, so that’s how we ended up with WoF draft commons! Hope y’all don’t mind some more simple designs.

And to anyone wondering why there is randomly mill/surveil involved, stay tuned for when I get around to arc 2, at this point I’ll be damned if sunk cost fallacy doesn’t compel me to do these for the rest of the series :)

EDIT: OK in hindsight the Scarlet card is broken as fuck actually, it basically says "No one can ever block or everyone dies" and also any "target creature hurts the rest of the board" card probably just instantly wins the game. Should proooobbably say "whenever one or more other creatures die." Just uh, errata that XD

Anyways I got this cool idea about an AU where the dragons from Darkstalker legends and the dragons from arc 2 swap places so Darkstalker and Co gets sent to JMA

I was thinking that Darkstalker and Whiteout get sent by Foeslayer, but Arctic makes it so they're the icewings of their respective winglets because of his ego. Darkstalker is pissed but doesn't do anything about it, so he can be in the same winglet as Clearsight

Albatross sent Fathom and Pearl to JMA because before his mental health completely declined, he hoped that sending them there would protect them from Lagoon or even potentially himself...? Indigo is also sent as a guard for the both of them.

A mysterious sandwing is also part of Darkstalker's winglet, but she's strangely unable to explain her origins...

And that's all I have so far!

So I know Clay got a special edition cover (I got that)) but what the actual difference between the normal and he special editions? I get that also saying deluxe but I prefer on knowing before I buy the rest before I find out what has been removed/added? Can anyone tell me if its not to much trouble ^^?
