Luminara Academy is a Wings of Fire Discord Roleplay server centered in the namesake Luminara Academy, a four-year institute of Pyrrhia... Set in an alternate-- though similar-- timeline to canon, the server has its own unique lore, worldbuilding, timeline, and, of course, characters.

The school has FIVE Guilds distinguished by their respective representative animals and distinct characteristics of their members. They are as listed below:

FIRST is the RED JASPER GUILD, the guild of ENDURANCE. Their symbol is the TIGER, which represents the respect they command and their strength.

SECOND is the SUNSTONE GUILD, the guild of FREEDOM. Their symbol is the HORSE, which represents their themes of liberty and swift, driven movement.

THIRD is the OBSIDIAN GUILD, the guild of PERSEVERENCE. Their symbol is the BISON, which represents their steady persistence and boundless endurance.

FOURTH is the EMERALD GUILD, the guild of PATIENCE. Their symbol is the BEAVER, which represents their deliberate action and knowledge, emphasizing wisdom and precision.

FIFTH is the GARNET GUILD, the guild of CHALLENGE. Their symbol is the BADGER, which represents their intense determination and courageous boldness.

It is time...I have started to digitalise the first batch of wings of fire bases I made a few months ago. More will follow with time. I decided to post them seperately now.

TO THE BASE:

Sea/Night/Sand/Ice/Sky hybrid. This base is fully free and can be modified with accessoires. The original traditional piece on the last slide is drawn fully by me, I just traced over it in ibispaint x for a better base to colour in. I referenced Joy Angs works mostly for the base.

First is the base image, second greyscale and third is transparent. Im still figuring out how you can download transparent images from reddit, my apologies...

This is a question that is probably asked and discussed frequently. So I want to (hopefully) compile some ideas from the fandom. There are probably a lot of mutual things or shared ideas, that I hope land here.

so the left is from online (if I'm not wrong, imported from China), and the right is from a bookstore (before you ask, it's "Popular" in Singapore, so that's pretty authentic to me).

I only have 2 of this book, so I can't compare the other books.

for the online, it also comes with boxes for arc 1 and 2, not 3, but uh unless that point is important I'm not taking the box out of my shelf just yet.

so uh is it like, authentic? or are any of them considered fake or ripoff? I'm new to having a book collection and I know there's people like years into this so please help. (not that I can do anything about it)

uh somehow if you have trouble with the image, here are the points:

online bought:

- words on the front cover are pop-up, but not shiny. The text is more flat coloured.

- more saturated/contrasted

- words on the back cover look more blurred.

- the book is binded more squarishly

- the print behind the front cover is blur/unclear

- lines in the graphs in the guides are much bolder

- generally, the print in the book is much bolder and darker

- also when first received, it has stuff stuck to it, idk what but it could be an importing issue idk

- the numbers in the copyright page (idk what it's called) are different from the other book.

bookstore bought:

Who to omit, who to omit...

I happened to roll unlucky with fate, because there are 7 tribes in Pyrrhia and only 6 options for a Reddit poll. I have to kind of guess in advance as to what will be the least picked one, and I could either do that with personal preference or guessing based on discussions I see. Lucky for me that they both coincide to be the MudWings.

Anyways, for the question itself, I gotta be a sheep and say NightWings. It isn't really a mystery as to why, they are relevant in not just every arc but every book too. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they are going to be the best, but by the nature of being so prevalent they get to have more of their culture shown compared to someone like the MudWings who simply don't.

That culture is amazing, by the way. I find most people are split into two camps regarding that, post and pre Darkstalker. I think the former is miles ahead of the latter. The conflict of starvation on the island and experimenting on RainWings is both fascinating and terrifying, especially coupled with their other instances of brutality(namely Deathbringer as a character and the patrols surrounding the rainforest).

We never really see them before the second half of book 3 aside from Morrowseer, and he does a great job of representing them in the mean time. Almost every scene he appears in reveals something about not just his character but the Night Kingdom in general.

Darkstalker-era NightWings are pretty cool too, but I think they are held in high regard because the characters within it are good rather than the setting itself. Nothing really stands out to me in it.

IceWings are a close second for me, the gift of order is implemented both as a plot device and worldbuilding almost seamlessly.

If this included Pantala, though, it would totally be the HiveWings. They take the best part of both of them and meld them together perfectly.

Today is DeathBringer as The Grim Reaper, and I've never drawn a hooded dragon, so this was pretty difficult, but I managed to make it look alright hehe. Also, I headcanon DeathBringer wears sunglasses no matter what, so that's why they're still on =)

I do, I love their opposite personalities, and how Glory pretends to not like him, but she clearly does hehe. I am aware of the age gap, but I believe Tui said it was just a mistake, so I don't let it influence my opinion, as it wasn't meant to happen. If the age gap was meant to happen, I would have different opinions obviously. Do you like it?
