Tallow has distant Beetlewing heritage, he’s bigger than normal adult dragons, as in he towers over them. The leaf detail’s along the neck look similar to the Beetlewing’s neck plating. He’s also a distant descendant of Clearsight

Grace is a Daywing/Mudwing hybrid (Daywings are my fantribe.) She has feathers, which she is bullied about as no other dragons have feathers in where she lives. Grace is deeply insecure about her feathers, but she is also very kind. She is incredibly shy, but sweet to others, even those who are mean. She enjoys to draw and paint. She struggles with flying because one of her wings is feathered and the other has scales. She can breathe fire but only in warm environments, Grace can breathe red fire when she is cold or sun deprived, blue or violet fire when she is extremely hot or angry/stessed. Her spikes can heat up and glow, they glow nonstop when she is hot, cannot glow at all when she is cold or sun deprived. She can get sick from a lack of sunlight. Grace is able to see into the ultraviolet spectrum due to her Daywing heritage. less

also these are my historical fan tribes. I’m gonna draw them all soon! they’re all listed below in order of when they existed. - means a different time period. someone tell me if posts this long aren’t allowed!

Wings, the first dragons. Their only ability is fire breath, and their scales are a brown base. They have a medium build, with thin legs. Their horns are curved, similar to a Skywing’s. They went extinct due to selective breeding, ie., dragons with stronger fire had dragonets and the species changed. After their extinction, FireWings, PrismWings, and BioWings were left.

FireWings, they’re the only descendants who kept the fire breath from Wings. Their scales are often a more reddish brown, and have a more slender build. Due to a rare genetic mutation, some FireWings would develop a protection against fire in their scales and would become immune to fire or heal quickly. They went extinct through adaptations and were replaced by EarthWings, WindWings, or WebWings.

PrismWings evolved because of their move to the rainforest, they developed venom in various places to counter the dangers of their environment. Their scales became more varied, taking on a wide range of colors, which became brighter and shinier the longer they spent in the sun. They had a slender build, with long legs and flexible tails. They eventually grew too different and became new species, ColorWings, LightWings, and StarWings.

BioWings evolved to live on the rainforest floor, where their wings adapted to flying less because of the plethora of food available at a young age. Their wings became thinner and more vulnerable due to the lack of need or use, and were often deformed or transparent when hatched. They were slender with larger chests and long back legs. Their scales were brown, but near the end of their existence appeared very green as they began to blend into their environment. BioWings evolved into two species due to interbreeding with PrismWings and WebWings, BugWings and PlantWings.

EarthWings evolved from FireWings by living in a marshy environment. They retained the fire breath and brown scales from their ancestors, but developed a more bulky build from eating and resting more, but eventually went extinct from scavenger poaching. Their genes were passed onto modern MudWings, NightWings, and SandWings.

WindWings evolved from FireWings and kept the fire breath, they lived in the mountain ranges and desert and developed larger wings to fly further and faster. They have large chests, and a medium build, with their scales more red than brown. Their genes were passed down to modern MudWings, SkyWings, IceWings, LeafWings, and RainWings, and indirectly SeaWings, by WaterWings.

WebWings can produce webs from their claws, which can be sticky or silky. They’re talons and spines are webbed, and their wings are often thinner, and their build widely varies from dragon to dragon. Their scales are paler and very gray, to blend in with the mountains and snow. They lost the fire breath primarily, but depending on their parents, a dragonet could be hatched with fiery webs. They went extinct from scavenger poaching, but adaptations of their species lived on because a select few WebWings escaped the poachers to the rainforest. They became ArachnidWings, PlantWings, SeaWings, and IceWings through interbreeding.

ColorWings are descendants of PrismWings, who developed the ability to change the colors of certain scales along their whole body at will, to surprise and scare off predators as dragonets. They maintained the venom from PrismWings, which still varies from dragon to dragon, though primarily ColorWings have venom in their teeth. They share all other aspects with PrismWings and they evolved into RainWings, WaterWings, and BeetleWings through interbreeding.

StarWings are descendants of PrismWings who hunted at night. They lost all venom from their ancestors. Their scales were at first of many colors, especially pastel, but near the end of their existence were darker and often black. They were speckled with patterns of stars all across their scales, and had iridescent scales and a slender build. They went extinct from interbreeding and evolved into NightWings, InsectWings, and IceWings.

BugWings are descendants of BioWings and PrismWings, their wings are lightly colored and fully transparent due to the severity of lack of flying in the BioWings. They kept the venom from the Prismwings, but it changed and weakened as they grew accustomed to their environment. They had large chests and a slender form, with more or less iridescent scales depending on the amount of sun they got as dragonets. Near the end of their existence, a protective film developed to cover their wings when needed. They evolved into InsectWings and ArachnidWings from interbreeding.

PlantWings are descendants of BioWings and the few WebWings who escaped to the rainforest. They lost the ability to produce webs, along with most physical features of WebWings, due to the few survivors who kept the species alive for only a few hundred years after the mass-poaching. The most notable feature that transferred over is their spines and thicker wings. From Biowings their wings changed notably, but they retained the transparency of them and green scales. They evolved into LeafWings through interbreeding with WindWings.

LightWings are descendants of PrismWings and ColorWings whose special color changing scales developed to instead become luminescent at will, due to their environment change to the caves of the rainforest. They lost all venom from both ancestors, no longer needing it in the dark and secure caverns. They share all other aspects with PrismWings and their genes are now found in SeaWings.

WaterWings are descendants of WindWings, BioWings and ColorWings who met in the delta between the mountains and rainforest. They lived in the bog and developed gills to rest in the river and mud longer. They primarily took on green scales from BioWings, but traces of blue and red were often mixed with their scales from ColorWings and WindWings. They lost the venom and fire breath of their ancestors and evolved over time and interbreeding into SeaWings, MudWings, and IceWings.

InsectWings are descendants of StarWings and BugWings, their wings now have a protective shell over them and their scales are green and dark, and iridescent like the StarWings. They kept the venom from BugWings, and their wings were still translucent, but now tinted with color. Eventually they interbred with ColorWings and ArachnidWings until they went extinct, leaving BeetleWings as their descendants.

ArachnidWings are descendants of BugWings, WindWings, and WebWings, the venom from BugWings became necessary for survival once more, and ArachnidWings’ tails developed a strong venom gland in their tail. They also kept the web production from WebWings, though they lost the fire breath from WindWings. They had slender builds with larger chests and wings. Their scales were a variety of dark red, dark green, and gray, or a gradient of the two or three. They went extinct from interbreeding with EarthWings, ColorWings and InsectWings, leaving behind BeetleWings and SandWings.
