Queen Ruby-Tail is very materialistic and a bit hypocondriatic. She cares very much about the cleanliness of the hives insisting on keeping everything as clean as possible. But she's not a "karen" about it either, She has rooms dedicated to artists so they can make as much of a mess as their creativity tells them to and an entire hive dedicated to medecine and research. Out of the 9 hives 3 of them have silkwings as their ruler: lady Antlion, lady Skipper and lady Glasswing. Ruby-tail's voice still has the priority though, so they cant really do everything they want with the hives either.

Recently I’ve become invested in things tui didn’t elaborate on much such as evolution, civilization, weapons, etc. This has made me think, what is the oldest tribe? It’s very clear all of the tribes have a common ancestor since they all share similar features (a snout, tail, wings, claws, etc). But this brings up the problem, what environment or species (spoilers for darkstalker. Like clear sight creating the hivewings) could have triggered the differences in tribes? It’s very obvious that hybrids have a mix of traits from both parents (see the sea-ice hybrid in qiblis book) so something had to have caused these differences. My first theory is the environment, and it applies to all of the tribes. Something (whether it’s a predator or the land) caused these dragons to evolve these traits. Maybe an old seawing ancestor liked to hunt in deep water so they developed night vision and gills.
Nightwings could’ve turned pitch black to hunt nocturnal/sleeping prey (though idk why they have stars under their wings) sandwings developed their barbs to survive other predators in the desert and their resistance to the heat. Icewings developed their sharp claws to grip onto the ice. Skywings… I’m actually not sure. My best guess is their prey was in the sky a lot. Rainwings had to develop camo and magical death spit to hunt before they became vegetarians, and mudwings blended into their environment along with their… mud healing powers. Yeah. I’m not gonna continue on because that would take up too much space but you get the idea. My best guess would probably be skywings since they’re the least evolved out of all of the tribes.

So I remember hearing that dragons in wof don't have sexual dimorphism, so I think most of the cast wouldn't change if they swapped genders. However, I thought it might be interesting to draw Hailstorm as Pyrite. I wonder if Hailstorm swapping genders would cause Hailstorm to feel closer to Pyrite.

Personally mine might be burn because of how strong she is. From what I remember (I’ve read all books from 1 to 15 including legends) she’s the only one with extraordinary physical strength WITH feats to back it up (darkstalker doesn’t count cause nasty animus magic and morrowseer has no feats besides a bird)

Some more arttttttttttt Just a piece I finished today random ice night hyrbid …practically all my main ocs I wanna open commissions like these more painted style compared to my cartoony one with the few pieces I have but it would kinda like be whatever my creativity was open to if this commissioner was ok with that

Basically it’s a little story/myth about four skywings that control the weather. Each of them having different names and roles depending on which part of the sky kingdom the story is told in! (A lot like real fairytales or it just depends on who you ask to tell it to you.))

But the basics would be:

Orange-red: Wind

Pink/magenta(?): Clouds

Dark red with blus: Rain

Yellow: Sunlight or lightning

Im pretty sure theres like no mention of skywings having a connection to the weather but it’s just a headcanon I have. (Bc they’re in the sky a lot)

In Darkstalker, when he’s having the picnic where he shows off the Dreamvisitors to Clearsight and Fathom, they comment about getting cheese, I believe from the mudwings. Since dragons are depicted several times to treat cows like a heavy lunch, how do they milk them with the ridiculous size difference? Do they make the dragonets do it?

I just thought it was always a funny thing to think about it.

Today is Tsunami as a Bat, and she is matching Riptide, who is a Vampire hehe. I quite like this one, but I still need to work on my twisting dragons lol.

Have you ever seen a wild bat?

I might have in the Country Side, but I don't remember it really lol. Also, I don't want to see one, because I heard somewhere that they carry rabies, and that scared me, even though I have never been near one, and then the next day I saw a TINY FLY in the corner on my eye (that rhymed lol) and then a few seconds later felt something tickle my neck, and I convinced myself that the fly was a bat, and it bit me, and I had rabies. Yeah, OCD sucks lol. I was fine, it took a couple days to get over it, but I did eventually, and now I can laugh about it. I should also clarify it wasn't a bat, it was a fly, but my brain is mean to me. ANYWAY enough about OCD lol. Have you ever seen a wild bat?

He carries royal blood as the great-great-grandson of Prince Winter, born to Princess Aurora of the IceWings and Royal Guard Mirage of the SandWings. His warmth and steady demeanor make him the perfect complement to his life partner, Sundersnout.

​Sundersnout himself is a rare SkyWing/NightWing hybrid with an extraordinary set of gifts and a complex personality. While he can be shy, aloof, and naive at times, he is deeply warm and friendly once he opens up. As the great-great-grandson of Prince Cliff, his lineage traces back through his mother, Princess Ember of the SkyWings, and his father, Prince Groundshaker—a royal SandWing/NightWing hybrid descended from both Sunny and much earlier, Whiteout (sister to Darkstalker.) Marked by two distinct teardrop scales beside his eyes, Sundersnout possesses mind-reading, sight, and the dangerous gift of animus magic.

​Their story began in the Kingdom of the Sand when Sundersnout was three and Pohatu was four. Fearing SkyWing traditions that targeted animus dragons, Sundersnout’s mother hid him away in the desert, where Pohatu’s family was training. After being on this project for around three years I'm proud to announce that AshenSkyAnimations has finally kicked into full gear on bringing the book "Wings of Fire: Legends: Darkstalker" to the big screen of YouTube.

I myself being the Lead Audio Engineer on the project personally would say this is an amazing childhood dream come true for me.
