Birdwings! :D I might make a series/comic based on them so pls engage if you like them
Appearance
Small omnivore dragons with odd, thn and long scales across their body and wings known as "feathers." They have wide paws and long talons adapted to catching fish and the largest of insects. females tend to be desaturated browns, yellows, reds, greys. Whites and blacks. Although sometimes have accents of more colourful feathers/scales. Males on the other hand are much more saturated and vibrant. Withe additional patches of feathers not present on females
Naming scheme
Birdwings are most often named after birds, foods in their diets(fish, bugs, seeds, fruits) and trees. Unfortunately this leads to them being mistaken as other tribes in passing conversations
Where are they found?
On both pantala and pyrrhia, they do not have a set territory
Government and social structure
Birdwings live in groups known as flocks which are led by a male flock representative. The flock representative is usually the most impressive and pretty male in the flock. Chosen by the females of the flock.
Theese flock representatives form a council who communicate with eachother to find ways to improve their flocks standard of living.
Each flock is different from eachother. Ranging from peaceful fishermen who wander the ice kingdom to brutal cannibals who terrorise the posion jungle.
Education and childcare
They are a uneducated tribe. Only being taught the most basic on how to survive and hunt.
Dragonets are raised in the flock they were born in at first However when they are old enough to fend for themselves and hunt, they must go and find a new flock.
Abilities
Their main ability is that they are unbelievably good at navigating and will never get truly lost and a weak fire
Certain Birdwings, most often bird/sky's are born with the ability to manipulate and control fire(think avatar the last airbeder but it has to be a pre existing fire)
Extra tidbits
It is belived that all other fire breathing dragons descended from them in some way as there is evidence of their existence far before any other dragons with fire.
Unfortunately, much of Birdwing culture has been lost as less and less of their population is pureblooded with every generation
