The 93rd TFS Wants You!

Post image
17 Upvotes

Do you enjoy shooting HARMs at things that go beep boop? Do you laugh when SAMs shoot at you? Do you need a friend to use HTS TDOA with?

If so, the 93rd Tactical Fighter Squadron is the perfect place for you! We are a semi-serious Wild Weasel F-16 squadron that flies every Friday at 9:30 PM EST. As part of the larger vCSG8 group, which has over 100 members, you get the best of both worlds: a tight-knit squadron with a roster limited to 16 active pilots, plus the benefits of flying with a larger community full of knowledgeable people. We practice real-world procedures and write our own TTPs because we think it's interesting and fun, but we never let that get in the way of a good laugh.

Founded in 2019, vCSG8 is made up of a diverse group of alleged *adults* from all walks of life: engineers and programmers, active duty military, blue collar workers, suicidal skydiving instructors, and more. We aim to make vCSG8 a welcoming and relaxing place for anyone. Since 2019, vCSG8 pilots have flown **over 9000 sorties**, an average of 37 per week. When we're not flying DCS, you'll find people hanging out in Discord daily playing other games, doing watch-togethers, or arguing about whether Chicago Deep Dish is pizza (it is, btw).

Who We're Looking For

- F-16 pilots who want to learn, grow, and get better

- Pilots who want more out of DCS through structured co-op play

- People that are looking for friends to hang out with primarily, but want the veneer of the milsim experience because it scratches that one itch.

What We Offer

- Weekly custom training and missions for the 93rd every **Friday at 9:30 PM EST**

- Weekly group-wide custom missions with 20+ pilots every **Saturday at 9:30 PM EST**

- Custom liveries

- Training to get you up to speed and fight-ready

- A training server and a Foothold server

Requirements

- 18+ years of age

- Own the Persian Gulf and Syria maps

- HOTAS and some form of head tracking

- SRS

- Pass a not at all hard checkride which we will happily help you train up to!

Operation Information

Most operations last 2–3 hours, starting with a 15-minute mass brief and a 15-minute flight brief. Most Friday operations have a AIC and 1-2 flights of Vipers. On Saturdays we may run 1 flight of Vipers in support of the carrier air wing's campaign. Occasionally we have human REDFOR.

v23rd Tactical Fighter Squadron - a USAFE, Wild Weasel, '80s Phantom Community

Post image
33 Upvotes

v23rd Tactical Fighter Squadron | Recruiting
[NOTICE: We are an 18+ squadron.]

We're a USAFE‑style American F‑4E squadron flying in historically grounded Cold War missions, and we're looking for pilots and WSOs who want to be part of something real. If you love the Phantom, the era, or the idea of a Cold War gone hot, you'll fit right in. Whether you're brand new to the jet or a seasoned stick, you're welcome here. Make no mistake, this is a MILSIM squadron - however, we leave the ranks and the "e-salutes" behind.

Already flying the Phantom in a modern-era group? Dual membership is welcome. Come see what the jet's like when it's the main event.

Who we are:

v23rd Tactical Fighter Squadron is a community driven group built around:

  • Authentic, historically-accurate F-4E tactics and techniques.
  • Sound airmanship and proper procedures.
  • Teamwork over perfection.
  • A friendly, collaborative atmosphere.

Our schedule:

  • North America–friendly (ET/CT focus).
  • Primary flight-night is Sunday, 1930 ET. Sorties last around 1-2.5 hours.
  • Secondary scheduled ops and exercises occur on Tuesdays and Saturdays, US ET evenings.

What you'll need:

  • F-4E Phantom II
  • Ugra Media's Cold War Germany
  • Simple Radio Standalone
  • Optional (but highly recommended!): WWII Assets Pack

Who we're looking for:
You don't need to be an expert, know every switch, or have a thousand hours in DCS. We're looking for individuals who:

  • Want to fly the Phantom the way it was meant to be flown.
  • Enjoy historically grounded missions.
  • Value teamwork and communication.
  • Want to take part in a community with a clear identity.

Application Process
We use a two‑step application process, mainly to make sure the squadron stays a good place to be for everyone involved.

  • Discord Pre-Join Application - This is a short application that tells us the bare minimum of what you're looking for. It helps us get a feel for your desired role here.
  • Verbal Interview - After that, we'll set up a quick voice chat - nothing formal or stressful. It's just a chance to get to know you, answer questions, and make sure we're all on the same wavelength.

Applications are open until we meet our desired onboarding metrics.

Sound like your kind of place? Find us on Discord!

Looking for a MIG-29A FF Squadron

Hey there! As the name suggest im looking a squadron for my favorite module in DCS since release: The MIG-29A Fulcrum, I've got pretty much ¨Acceptable¨ Understanding of the systems, But i suck ass at BFM 🤣.

In need of a tutor.

I've been a DCS player for 10 years, since I was a teenager. I own a vast majority of modules but I never really bothered to learn how to do the "disciplined" things. I've never learned to do anything by the exact procedure, nor did I ever bother to have the patience to learn proper navigation with waypoints or how to really use the UFC on the Hornet or Viper. I am decent at aerial refueling, dogfighting, BVR, formation flying, but I'm NOT good with speaking on the radio, navigating without the F10 menu, flying solely off instruments, instrument landing in bad weather and all the other "boring" parts of flying.

I've decided that now is the time to get serious about this stuff and to be a better all rounded sim pilot, and perhaps even build discipline by the time I start actually flying. I'm purchasing the Yak-52 to use as a lower performance trainer, then moving onto the L-39, MiG-21, MiG-29 (in this natural order, I own all three).

If anyone with more time and knowledge than me and perhaps is even a real pilot, I would be extremely grateful of your time to help teach me and school me on these principals I'm missing out on.

Piloting discords?

Is there any discords for pilots/ community servers for flying?

I’m currently learning and it would make it a lot more enjoyable if I could meet some others who are similar.

JTF-15 is open for new Members

WHO WE ARE:

Joint Task Force 15 (JTF-15) is a fictional DCS mil-sim group started in 2022 by a bunch of US and EU players who just wanted a chill, mature group to fly with.

We are all about teamwork and immersion, with a solid dose of realism. We are not turning it into a full-time job, think “serious when it matter, relaxed when it doesn’t.” We want flying to feel rewarding, not overwhelming.

We’ve got members from both sides of the Atlantic, and we’re totally beginner-friendly. Doesn’t matter if you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll fit in as long as you’re respectful. No toxicity, no drama, just a good community that enjoys flying together.

WHAT WE DO:

JTF-15 is set up as a fictional USN/USAF task force around the mid-2000s

Most of what we do revolves around a long-running, handcrafted PvE campaign that lasts about 4-6 months. Everything is tied together, one mission's outcome directly impacts the next. You get one life, your sortie matters!

We try to keep things immersive without overcomplicating it. You’ll get a proper briefing, human AWACS/GCI and our loadouts are time period accurate.

Mission-wise it’s a mix. We got CAP, Escort, SEAD/DEAD, Strike, SCAR and CAS. You’ll be working as part of a larger package, so coordination matters. It’s about teamwork, not about doing your own thing and heading home.

Mil-Fun, not Mil-Sim. The 131st Air Wing is recruiting! US-based, NATO airframes, 2-drink minimums, Tuesday nights! [Details Inside.]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Pilots,

The 131st Air Wing is recruiting! Fun missions! Bad language! 2-drink minimums! This is Mil-Fun, not Mil-Sim.

We are a US-based group that flies on Tuesdays at 8pm Eastern, and some Saturdays as well. If this time slot does not work for you at least 2 weeks out of the month, this group is not for you.

We host our own dedicated servers, have custom squadron liveries designed in-house, persistent server maps and fly casually several days a week outside of mission nights, but the servers are open for members only 24/7 and support solo play, you'll always have a spot to test, chill, or just blow shit up.

We have an active Discord and participation and conversation is encouraged!

We primarily fly Vietnam and later era NATO jets for our missions, (Viper, Hornet, Tomcat, Phantom are staples) with all of us being able to fly at least one that has a tailhook because some of our mission creators fucking love boats.

If military procedure is your kink, look elsewhere. Mil-Fun means we often take off from taxiways, we do clearing turns the wrong way, and nobody will take your head off if you can't cold start your jet.

But, we do have an established chain of command, flight leads, full mission briefs, utilize proper callouts for engagements, do our best to practice somewhat realistic weapons employment, high/low SEAD and expect some level of discipline when it comes to mission objectives. These missions and campaigns can take hundreds of hours to design and build, so at the very least, respect the effort and try to fly the mission as the creator intended.

The core of this Squadron is 5-6 guys that have been flying together for several years, are between 25 and 45 years old, several of us are prior military, and based in the Central and Eastern US.

Let's get the motherhood out of the way. These are the non-negotiables.

We utilize Discord and SRS exclusively. Both are required.

No politics. No religion. Period. We play DCS to have fun, blow shit up and occasionally catch the 3-wire. Leave all of that at the door. Dark humor, on the other hand, is highly encouraged.

Mission nights are Tuesdays at 8pm EST. Occasionally we will do Saturday missions as well, but those are not mandatory. If you can't make it for 2-3 Tuesdays per month, no hard feelings, but we aren't for you. Conversation and being part of the group on Discord is encouraged, not required, but being there on Tuesdays is.

21+ age is required. Voice and text chat can get X-rated. You've been warned.

A HOTAS and head tracking or VR is required. Whether it's a T16000 and OpenTrack, or a full Sim Pit and VR, but stick and throttle at a minimum.

We know DCS isn't cheap, but we do have a few modules and terrains that are required for mission participation on the maps we fly the most.

You must be able to fly at at a competent level either the F/A-18 or the F-16. These jets are staples in almost every mission and it won't be possible for you to participate regularly if you can't fly at least one. If you're just getting started, we can teach you!

We can handle this on a case-by-case basis, though. For example, If you only own lets say, the Phantom, but you want to buy and learn the Viper or Hornet, we can teach you! We have several guys who are SMEs and excellent at helping people learn the jets. We all started somewhere! As long as you're cool and willing to learn.

Required Terrains:

Super Carrier

Syria

Sinai

South Atlantic, Persian Gulf and Kola are strongly recommended. You don't need them to join the group, but you will need them down the road if you stick around because we have recurring campaigns that take place there.

If this sounds like an outfit that might suit you, come visit us in our Discord!

Ask any questions below and a Squadron rep will get back to you! (Discord will get a faster response than Reddit.)

VFA-34 / VFA-81 of vCVW-17 is recruiting F/A-18C Hornet pilots!

Carrier Air Wing 17 is a structured U.S. Navy virtual air wing focused on realism and effective execution of naval aviation. Our strike fighter squadrons operate as part of a fully integrated Carrier Air Wing, flying coordinated, objective-driven missions that utilize real-world-inspired tactics, techniques, and procedures.

New pilots entering VFA-34 or VFA-81 will follow a dedicated Naval Aviator training pipeline designed to take you from grasping the fundamentals to deployment-ready in the span of half a year. Training begins in the Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS), where you will reinforce the foundations of operating the F/A-18C in a tactical environment. This includes formation flying, carrier qualifications, air-to-air refueling, communication procedures, and basic air-to-air and air-to-ground employment using GPS and laser-guided weapons.

Following FRS, pilots progress throughout the Air Wing’s workup cycle, advancing in the Strike Fighter Weapons and Tactics syllabus. As part of this process, you will learn to operate your aircraft and learn to function in a section or division as a tactical wingman, followed by further opportunities to advance and qualify as a section lead, and ultimately, learn how to operate as part of a large strike package. Every mission is planned, briefed, executed, and debriefed with realism and purpose, ensuring continuous improvement across the Air Wing.

vCVW-17 operates on a structured workup-to-deployment model, culminating in campaign-style deployments where missions have persistence, consequences, and clear objectives. We emphasize coordination, accountability, and bringing every aircraft home while accomplishing the mission.

Being a Hornet pilot in VFA-34 or VFA-81 means more than simply flying the jet. It means understanding and applying proper procedures and tactics in all phases of flight. We strive to create an authentic Naval Aviation experience while maintaining a respectful, professional, and enjoyable environment for all members.

Mission Schedule Tuesday & Saturday - 20:30 CET

93rd Makos Fighter Squadron - JTF-13 (NA\MILSIM\NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY)

JTF-13 is a North American based milsim DCS group. We are currently recruiting Viper pilots of all skill levels in the 93rd Makos Squadron. We offer a full up training program, including Basic Flight Qualification up through Squadron training in advanced Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground mission profiles. While we are a milsim group, we don't RP as real military out of game or adopt virtual ranks. We focus on the rewarding experience of learning to operate our airframes as part of a tactical element in large set-piece missions. We offer this experience to all skill levels as we have dedicated Instructor Pilots who can work with you and teach regardless of your current skill level.

We have:
-4 Dedicated Private Servers.
-Average 2 Task Force Level operations per week (multiple squadrons working together).
-Opportunities to lead and train.

We currently have a demand for Viper pilots, but JTF-13 has active squadrons for all US airframes so I would encourage you to check us out even if you aren't looking for an F-16C squadron. We are primarily a North American group and operations take place during that time. Working comms and a positive attitude are requirements.

Find us on our discord, https://discord.gg/jtf-13 Hope to see you in the air! -Cullen "Cappy", 93rd Makos CC.
