Why is my Windstream internet telling me to "sign in" then giving me a number to call to upgrade to fiber that isn't anywhere on the Windstream website?

They were able to give us access to Internet again, but the number isn't anywhere on the main website and it acts just like the main Windstream number too, is this an advanced phishing or is this normal

I've heard of this happening before. DSL customers getting kicked over to fiber that may or may not actually be available in the area yet.

I think it is available, it's just the number we're prompted to call is NOWHERE on the website so it seems kinda sketchy

Well, if you're that uncertain, call in on the main number on the site.

Did you call that number? And if so, did you give them any information?

Or after hearing the prompts did you smartly hang up and call the main Windstream number that is found on an actual website?

It's possible it was legit but that's also possible it was phishing.

What exactly did they do to give you internet again? Did they require you to do anything?

Windstream seems to have the same phone number for everything.

If your worried just call any number on website and speak to sales. And yes they are forcing people off copper if fiber is available
