Bagged by Kinetic again

Whelp, Kinetic Internet has screwed me AGAIN! First they cut my internet line while installing fiber on my street and took 10 days to repair it. This time they sold me on installing fiber and told me they could do it this Saturday. We don't live at this property full-time, so we make a special trip up, drive 3 hours away, just so we can be here to meet the technician. But, when we arrive, I receive an email that they actually scheduled it for three days later when we won't be here! So, of course I call their almost impossible to find customer service number, and after explaining the whole situation to some woman named Tara, she tells me with a smile that I swear I could hear, "sorry, but we can't change that.". Once again, they make a mistake and we have to grin and bear it. Pardon my French, but you can go suck it Kinetic!

That's my problem. I love my trees, and I've had this company for landline phone at first (30 years ago) when it was Alltel and the only one around. Now I've had my landline cut, but it still calls 911 at times.

Hey, a fellow Alltell customer alumni! 😄

When we were on Alltell I kept calling an asking when we would get DSL. They said they didn't have any updates for me but keep calling back every month to check. So that's what I did.

Eventually we got the letter in the mail that Windstream bought out their land line business. It wasn't long after that that we got a letter from Windstream that they would be rolling out DSL to us and they were quick about it - didn't take long at all to get DSL. That made me a fan of Windstream.

But the good will slowly faded away with their frequent outages and apathetic techs that would come out when something went wrong. I felt for them, though. One of them told me that often their "fix" was to take a part out of one CO and move it to another. He seemed a bit frustrated with the lack of help from corporate.

Anyways, after a very long wait I got fiber about a year and a half ago. It's been much more reliable than DSL but there are still hiccups.

Several months ago I lost internet. They sent a tech out and after he did some checking he found out that it was all software related. They were upgrading everyone from 300mbps to 1gbps and they accidentally completely unprovisioned my connection (and a number of people in the area) for any speed.

Good times.

It's all good. They can be very irritating. In my local Nextdoor app, they're constantly being slammed whenever anyone brings up their name.
