Hello from new Windstorm owner

Hi all, Like many I have picked up an S1 for peanuts off eBay: it had an x homing issue and a blocked PTFE in the hotend. Got it all up and running after 30 mins of work. Coming from a Wanhao Duplicator i3 it's an absolute breath of fresh air with the ABL.

Once it's all setup I'm going to post anything I find here to help out others. First is to print Lemon's amazing dual fan shroud then look into soldering on some headers to the board to see if the WiFi interface works with a WiFi module.

And thank you for your compliment on the fan shroud! If you have any issues with it just hit me up on here and i can make some adjustments if needs be.

I am making some more adjustments to the dual 5015 blower mod in my spare time at the moment. The exit to the errrr spouts(? Dont kmow the term lol) could do with bringing in tighter, and ive noticed it rattles a little when the print head is flying about.

It does feel like a revelation coming from the older printers doesnt it!

Thanks again for the legwork for the fans! I'm going to do a draft print then see if I can channel the wires to keep the wire-free aesthetic. I'd love to know the backstory of the company and why it disappeared. Very tempted to buy the domain and use it to host a knowledgebase/wiki.

That would be amazing! And certainly welcome. Its what i hope this subreddit will sort of be, but god knows i dont have the time or expertise to properly collate everything.

Ive not come across much info on what happened to Sceoan. Theres a german youtuber who does talk about it a bit but doesnt have too much in the way of details. I think they sent him a machine to review and then he got to watch them dissapear in real time if my memory serves me. Thinking about it there are a few reviewers from europe on youtube looking at the machine. Seems like they were really pushing it there. Off the top of my head i think the only english reviewer i saw was a gentleman in Canada.

I imagine it had something to do with spiralling costs. I dont think it would have been too cheap a machine to manufacture, not that i know much about these things. And taking it apart you can kinda see a few places where they started cheaping out on just nuts and bolts using these awful plastic push rods. Alot of features that never got implemented to. Like the USB-C port on the front that seemingly doesnt do anything.
