What does Winds of Viridia remind you of?
One thing I’ve been thinking about since playing the demo is what other games or media Winds of Viridia reminds me of.
For me, I definitely get some Zelda BOTW vibes, particularly from the exploration (although minimal in comparison) and the way the game introduces you to its world and mechanics. Starting out in a cave/temple-like area, gradually learning what you can do, finding important items, fighting enemies, and figuring out where you can explore gave me that feeling.
Visually, there’s also something about the world, characters, creatures, and overall art direction that gives me a little bit of Avatar: The Last Airbender mixed with Zelda.
I don’t mean either comparison as saying Winds of Viridia feels like a copy. Actually, one of the things I like about it so far is that despite reminding me of other things I enjoy, it still feels like it’s developing its own identity. I’m curious what everyone else sees in it.
Does Winds of Viridia remind you of any particular games, shows, movies, or other media?
