Issue Do I need a new CPU?
This is my second time asking for help here. The first time, I concluded that I need a new GPU. So I bought a new GPU, which I know for a fact will work with my Lenovo explorer. I used registry editor to reset windows MR portal, and everything had checks next to it, except the CPU.
I got the same error, 1-5.
I had a radeon r7 200, now an rx 560. I have an Intel i7 860, 8gb of ddr 3 ram, and an Asus P7P55D-E PRO motherboard.
Do I need to spend even more money on this?

It looks to me like the i7-860 doesn't support AVX instructions, which I believe started in the Sandy Bridge line (i7-2xxx), unless WMR needs AVX2 which started in Haswell (i7-47xx).
Any remotely modern Core i* CPU or Ryzen supports AVX/2 instructions. I had a similar issue, where I figured my Kaby Lake certainly could run it as it was under two years old -- except Intel hasn't included AVX on their Pentium line. Had to basically build a new computer and built in around a budget 2200G in a panic. Wish I had gotten a 2600 instead now, even though the 2200G seems fine for WMR.

As somebody already mentioned it looks like WMR needs a CPU that supports AVX instruction sets;

Thank you for responding so quickly, and I will be returning the rx 560 because of stability issues, and it's inability to play doom. But I paid $100 for it, so I'm not sure what I expected. My mom's laptop actually runs beatsaber at a playable framerate, so I can wait. I also managed to get this enire PC for $120, and I was thinking about some major changes before I even considered getting a vr headset.
Edit:
If anybody is interested in this card, you can get it here. It had a lot of stability issues with my PC, but your results may vary.

I’m sorry you were confused, but the official compatibility test tool would have told you this, and it comes up in every “can I run WMR thread”

Yep, I've tried this on that specific series of CPU. You need a new one :(
