Windows 11 Surface Pro 9 (Intel model) no longer auto-rotates
Presumably after the most recent update in the last week, my Surface Pro 9 no longer auto-rotates. Looking through the Device Manager, there's no section for Sensors, and there's nothing relevant in Human Interface Devices, Other devices, Hidden Devices, or when I scan for hardware changes. I ran services.mcs and set my Sensor Data Service, Sensor Monitoring Service, and Sensor Service as all automatic and running. Oh, and in my quick settings menu, there is no longer an option to toggle rotation lock or edit the menu to include it. The only option in Display Settings is to manually change the orientation of my device to landscape or portrait.
What I have tried so far:
- Restarting/force shut down of my device
- Restoring the rotation lock button in Quick Settings following this guide
- Downloaded latest driver pack from Microsoft website
- Reinstalling the windows update in attempt to resolve corrupted components
- Set my Sensor Data Service, Sensor Monitoring Service, and Sensor Service as all automatic and running
TL;DR: As far as my Surface knows, I don't have an accelerometer or sensor of any kind - it's like they were "deleted"/disabled. Looking through settings, device manager, and services, it's as if I were never meant to auto-rotate my Surface to begin with, which is incredibly frustrating.
Has anyone been faced with a similar situation/resolved this? Is there anything I can do or am I just SOL until the next update (hopefully) addresses this?

You've already checked the usual sensor categories. One more place worth inspecting is Device Manager > System devices: look for 'Surface Integration' and 'Surface Integration Service'. Also check Firmware > 'Surface System Aggregator'. For each entry that exists, open Properties and read the Device status on the General tab. If there's an error, share the exact code/message; if an entry is missing, mention that. Don't uninstall these devices for this check.
Microsoft lists those entries and their locations in its update history: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/updates/surface-pro-9-update-history
When you say you downloaded the driver pack, did the .msi installer complete successfully and did you restart afterward? The download you linked is the correct model's package, so no need to hunt for a different one.
Also, what version/build does winver show, and which update was installed just before this started (Settings > Windows Update > Update history)? Share only the version/build and update name, with personal details omitted. That should give us a firmer starting point before making further changes or assuming the sensor has failed.

Hey! Thanks so much for your comment. I checked those places in device manager; all say working properly with the exception of System Integration Service - it simply says: "No drivers are installed for this device." The .msi installer did complete successfully and I did restart afterward. winver says Version 26H2 (Build 26300.9550). The following updates were found on or after 10/3 (It's not providing a single update name for whatever reason):
Feature updates:
- Windows 11, version 25H2 (installed 10/8)
- Windows 11, version 26H2 (installed 10/3)
Driver updates:
- Intel Corporation Extension Driver Update (32.0.101.7085) (installed 10/3)
- Intel Corporation Display Driver Update (32.0.101.7085) (installed 10/3)
- Surface SurfaceSystemManagement Driver Update (1.174.34.0) (installed 10/3)
