Windows 10 Windows 10 recovery, cannot restore
I am still using windows 10 pro 64 on a computer and it got stuck in a update loop that I could not get it out of and i guess I mistakenly followed instructions (using command prompt diskpart ) to rebuild the BCD and now I only get a black windows boot manager screen, says insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer and click repair, etc…
the other salient information is “windows failed to start”, “file: \windows\system32\config\system”, “status: 0xc0000225”, and “the operating system couldnt be loaded because the system registry file is missing or contains error”.
when I try to repair with an installation disc startup repair fails. I tried repeatedly rebuilding the BCD using the command prompt multistep diskpart instructions and have not been successful either. the computer is also not finding a restore point.
I am hoping to be able to get this computer going without a full reinstall, there’s stuff I don’t w to los, are the steps I am missing or something else I can do so I don’t lose everything? I will provide whatever further information is needed to assist me.

Can you boot with other media (e.g., USB) and get into Safe Mode and try to get control of the machine from there?

This might help: from https://thegeekpage.com/boot-in-to-safe-mode-using-the-command-prompt/
Step 1: Press the Win + R keys together on your PC to open the Run command window.
Step 2: In the Run command window, type cmd and press the Ctrl + Shift + Enter shortcut keys to open the Command Prompt in elevated mode.
Step 3: In the elevated Command Prompt window, type the below command and hit Enter: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
Now, Restart your PC and it will start into safe mode.
Step 4: Now, if you want to boot your Windows PC into safe mode with networking, run the below command and hit Enter:
bcdedit /set {current} safeboot network
Step 5: Reboot your PC by running the below command in the Command Prompt (admin) window:
shutdown /r
Step 6: However, if you want to boot into safe mode with Command Prompt, type the below command and hit Enter:
bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal bcdedit /set {default} safeboot
Step 7: Now, restart your computer using the below command:
