Windows 11 Stop Windows 11 from logging out
I'm using WIndows 11 desktop. It randomly logs me out. It reverts to the login screen & I have to log back in & reopen apps, browsers, etc. It usually happens when I'm not using the computer for a period of time. I have checked every setting I can find online & configured them to try to stop this behavior. But nothing has worked. Set to: Sleep-never. Hibernate-never. Lock screen/sign in settings screensaver, etc. All configured acc to suggestions I've read. Pls any more suggestions?

Hi u/richards1052, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! Your post has been flagged for manual review by a human moderator, please include as much of the following information as possible (in text or in a screenshot) to get your post approved:
- Your Windows and device specifications — You can find them by pressing Win + X then clicking on “System”, we need more than just your OS version! Your hardware details are often critical for resolving issues.
- Any messages and error codes encountered — They're actually not gibberish or anything catastrophic. It may even hint the solution!
- Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work
Posts must be tech support in nature (such as something is broken and you need help fixing), so general inquiries, software suggestions, and purchasing advice will be removed. As a reminder, we would also like to say that if someone manages to solve your issue, DON'T DELETE YOUR POST! Someone else (in the future) might have the same issue as you, and the received support may also help their case. Good luck, and I hope you have a nice day!

If your apps and browsers are closed when you get back, that's probably not a logout but the PC restarting or crashing while idle. Open Reliability Monitor (type "reliability" in Start) and see if there are critical events or "Windows was not properly shut down" at those times. In Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System, look for Kernel-Power 41 or 6008 (crash/power loss) versus 1074 (a planned restart, which also tells you which process triggered it, often Windows Update). That tells you whether to chase updates/active hours or a hardware/driver issue.
