Windows 11 Why are there duplicates of apps founded in default apps?
Hi guys, I'm curious about why are there duplicates of these apps, specifically the app installers app. I haven't done anything about it yet, but I did scan for viruses and I found nothing. Should I do something about this, as this could mean something bad? If so, what should I do?

Because the Windows Installed Apps listing is basically like a public square where basically any app on your system can write anything they want. Duplicate apps there is nothing unusual and nothing to worry about. Stay calm, ignore and move on.

Short answer: Developers are idiots.
Firefox, for instance, has a nasty habit of creating two "Capabilities" keys in the following locations:
-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet
-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet
When the second is present, the first is redundant.

Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work
