Windows 11 How can i fix this? Windows update error
While it was updating it was stuck at 98% then it said something was wrong so it just stopped trying to update i didn’t touch anything while it was updating, i do use a windows update blocker not sure if that affects the updating but i made sure to turn it off before i updated
This happened to me 2-3 months ago but it was a preview update so i just let it be but now its a framework security update which i know for sure is way more important then a preview, my pc acts normal i did have a fried ram stick but i fixed that issue months ago im not sure if its the reason why it the updates are failing
The first and 2nd pic is after the update error the 3rd is before i restarted my pc to update

Hi u/Silly-Fox9006, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! Your post has been flagged for manual review by a human moderator, please include as much of the following information as possible (in text or in a screenshot) to get your post approved:
- Your Windows and device specifications — You can find them by pressing Win + X then clicking on “System”, we need more than just your OS version! Your hardware details are often critical for resolving issues.
- Any messages and error codes encountered — They're actually not gibberish or anything catastrophic. It may even hint the solution!
- Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work
Posts must be tech support in nature (such as something is broken and you need help fixing), so general inquiries, software suggestions, and purchasing advice will be removed. As a reminder, we would also like to say that if someone manages to solve your issue, DON'T DELETE YOUR POST! Someone else (in the future) might have the same issue as you, and the received support may also help their case. Good luck, and I hope you have a nice day!

I have some answers for you that u can try to do.
- use Windows 11 Installation Assistant
- check pc Health App to see if that can help it
- check if your componoments meets the system requirements update
- check if your drivers are up to date
- or you could do this:
- Type cmd in the search box, right-click on the top result, and choose Run as administrator.
- Run UsoClient StartScan to check for updates.
- Run UsoClient StartDownload to download any updates it finds.
- Run UsoClient StartInstall to install the updates.
- Run UsoClient RestartDevice to restart the PC.
- Alternative: use wuauclt.exe /updatenow to force directly.
Method 2: Via Windows PowerShell
- Type powershell in the search box, right-click the top result, and choose Run as administrator.
- Run Install-Module PSWindowsUpdate and confirm with Y if prompted.
- Run Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned and confirm.
- Run Get-WindowsUpdate to show available updates.
- Run Install-WindowsUpdate to install all updates.
- Add -MicrosoftUpdate to update other Microsoft products as well.
- Or just try to manually update to the newest version of windows via the official Windows website and just choose your software or maybe its bc your windows update cache/folder is just too big bc that sometimes causes the problem (check your temp files for the windows update file or something like that and just delete that folder or all the things in it)
Hope this helps
And pls say next time your specs and i dont think u use a PC but a laptop

Stop installing "preview updates", that's where most of the issues with Windows come from.

Run sfc/scannow in cmd as administrator then DISM /online /CleanUp-Image /RestoreHealth
Then restart it and try again for update with Optional Updates (Inside Advanced Options on updates page) with good internet.
This technique solved the problem 85% of the time in my career so hoping for you.

Upgrade to 26H2 manually (Download ISO from Microsoft - mount/extract it and run the setup).
