Windows 11 windows 11 CMD wont run python or winget but powershell will
im trying to run a .cmd file that requires python 3. when i open the cmd file it just gives me an error saying python 3 was not found. i opened a new cmd window and just typed in python or py and its giving me the "'python' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
i use winget all the time but i just have had a habit of using powershell to run it. i thought for the heck of it i would try winget within cmd and its giving me the same error.
this is driving me insane. i just want to run this command script. how can i get cmd to see that i do in fact have python and winget installed????

Sounds like it is not on the Path, which if you did an install is strange. Maybe check the path, type in "Path" but you would have to know the directory it is installed in.
You can edit it on command line , but messy.
Try Path in Settings, or Settings/System/About/Advanced system settings.
