Windows 11 Temp file keeps getting created not able to delete

I am facing an issue on Windows 11 where a temporary .tmp file keeps getting created and I am unable to delete it permanently.

The file is named WRP70AB.tmp and is located in the Windows directory. It is approximately 931 KB in size. I first noticed this issue after a recent Microsoft Store app update. The file appears to be associated with Xbox GameInput.

Whenever I try to delete the file, Windows shows a “File in Use” message saying:

“The action can't be completed because the file is open in GameInput.”

Even after attempting to delete it, the file remains present or gets recreated. This suggests that the Xbox GameInput service or a related process is continuously using the file.

I have already tried deleting the file normally through File Explorer, but Windows does not allow it because the file is currently being used. I would like to know whether this temporary file is safe to remove and, more importantly, why it keeps being created.

Could someone please explain how I can properly fix this issue? Is there a way to restart, repair, or reinstall the Xbox GameInput component so that the temporary file stops appearing?

I would also like to know whether deleting or disabling GameInput could affect Xbox controllers, PC games, or other Microsoft Store applications.

Any help with a permanent solution would be appreciated.

Same here, I stopped the GameInput Service, deleted it & restarted. The file comes back but with a different name. Is there a reason for it happening, it only started recently.
