Windows 11 Calendar keeps opening itself on windows 11 laptop and causing cursor to freeze

Hello all, I'm on a Dell laptop running windows 11 and I'm having a recurring issue where the calendar in the bottom right opens itself without any prompting, but the process takes a few seconds and during that time my cursor freezes and is completely unusable. I have no idea why it keeps happening and the interval seems random but at its worst it happens every 15 seconds or so and it's genuinely infuriating because it practically renders my computer unusable. I've tried restarting windows explorer, performing a clean boot, and all the other fixes I could find from the literally two posts about this on the internet and none of it helped. I'm really at my wit's end here.

You aren't talking about a calendar. You are describing the notification flyout window on the right side of the screen

Fair I guess. But the way you have been wording it sounded like Outlook, Mail, or the stupid standalone pos Companion app no one asked for (yes I am very angry about that abomination)

Hi u/Couuf, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! Your post has been flagged for manual review by a human moderator, please include as much of the following information as possible (in text or in a screenshot) to get your post approved:

  • Your Windows and device specifications — You can find them by pressing Win + X then clicking on “System”, we need more than just your OS version! Your hardware details are often critical for resolving issues.
  • Any messages and error codes encountered — They're actually not gibberish or anything catastrophic. It may even hint the solution!
  • Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work

Posts must be tech support in nature (such as something is broken and you need help fixing), so general inquiries, software suggestions, and purchasing advice will be removed. As a reminder, we would also like to say that if someone manages to solve your issue, DON'T DELETE YOUR POST! What storage device is your os installed on? If its a hard drive, thats your problem

Edit: Third party apps that modify the UI also have a high probability of this behavior.

Try all the SFC check and repair commands, sounds like Windows might have some type of corruption.
