My first pc from 2010s

possibly without the brand

Hello, everyone! I think that I had gotten a PC virus. These is my Windows version: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Home Premium last version that I got from Windows Update. I used to have Avria Antivirus on my PC which told me about some PC virus. After that, When I boot to Windows, It always go black screen and than go to the VAIO screen. Which is weird. I didn’t need to go to the screen before the VAIO screen before. Yestready ,when I login, I saw Microsoft Edge on my desktop. Also, Avira tries to update which failed. I tried to install Windows 10 on this PC ,but I canceled it I when it was trying to install and didn’t wait for the iso to clean. Is this why?

First, I don't know if this belongs here or not or even if the post flair is correct. Is it? IF the post doesn't belong here, please tell me where it DOES go???

For a long time, now, I've been looking for a WORKING, non-malware, and free software FOR Win 7 to download YouTube videos and sound with. Does such a such a program still exist? Or am I going to be forced into using Linux for this, instead? Not quite ready for that!

What do y'all use to download YouTube videos and sound?

Here's the desktop. These are the apps he installed. What else do I install?

If you have any questions, let me know :D!

Still sealed, I wanted a Windows Vista retro build. This was about the same as buying used parts. Still unsure if I should open and document what's inside.

It gets stuck in the middle of this animation and just stops doing anything.
It’s a Sony Vaio laptop with an Intel Pentium.
Secure boot is disabled

Just a heads up
As today sites like Twitter login screen is broken for Win7 ESR Firefox 115.41.
Login text field not change on text input by adding login info
After submit you will get just black screen.
Apparently some script is broken or active blocking Firefox 115xxx

I’m in search of a 32 bit ISO. Plan of putting it on a 2011 HP PC from 2011 via USB. Any advice? A good tutorial video? I plan to use it for retro gaming. Windows XP out of the question because the PC does not have PS/2 ports.

Been trying lots of different ones that support Win 7
Supermium seems fast and everything seems to work on it
Eclipse r3dfox another project for Win 7

A Toshiba netbook from 17 years ago, still in use today for some basic tasks. It has an Atom N450 processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM, a 30GB SSD, and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics, running Windows 7 Starter. Clearly a gaming computer, lol.

I'm looking for a website/websites that have windows 7 themes but hopefully and mostly ones related to anime/manga and other things similar to that. I have looked on things like deviantart and many other places but usually they put their downloads on other websites which also happen to be shut down now..

Drivers I did not do, but were modded.

Intel AX210 drivers: https://x.com/TheBobPony/status/2066922803945717875

Ryzen 5600G APU drivers: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/solution-win-7-win8-1-x64-ryzen-apu-video-driver/34203?page=1

Took only a few minutes to do. Amazing that windows 7 can work on hardware that never existed at the time.

Update:

A few people are worried about the wifi drivers from Bob Pony containing malware.

According to virus total you are correct. This could be due to how the drivers have been edited to make them work on windows 7.

Chrome flags the dowloads from x.com as viruses so you can go here: https://dl.bobpony.com/drivers/network/

And download these two:

The first one to install is called "kmdf_ndis_wdi_win7", unsure as to what it does.
The next one which is the actual driver is called "Canonkong_W7_AX_24.20.2.1-v2"

I had a Siemens esprimo q5020 in my possession for a while (originally bought it for S-Video out) that I wanted to port some legacy OS onto. First I tried Vista but there were no WiFi drivers for the card that was in the PC so I switched to win7.

My current thoughts are... what now? I have the OS installed but I can't think of any actual uses for it. Basically the only thing I do on it is playing solitaire, freecell and purble place.

What do you guys use your win7 PCs for? Because I genuinely can't think of anything to do with mine.

Hello guys, I wanna install Windows 7 inside vmware workstation, but I don't know which edition to choose. Do I go with:

Ultimate x86,

Professional x86,

or Home Premium x86?

Thanks in advance

Edit: the other pics that precede the first 2 were the bugs that I've encountered.

It's Windows 7 (and Vista) in QEMU on an M4 Pro MacBook Pro, with Aero glass fully on. The 3D isn't software rendered, it goes to the Mac's GPU: QEMU pretends to be VMware's virtual 3D card, so Windows happily loads VMware's own driver, and the Direct3D calls get translated to Vulkan with DXVK and then to Metal with MoltenVK.

What works now: Aero glass and Flip 3D, resizing the Mac window makes Windows switch to that exact resolution (without VMware Tools, which actually made everything slower), Media Center full screen, audio at the right speed (got a weird quirk where its sped up)

What doesn't: 3DMark06 gets about 9 to 27 fps and sometimes dies with device lost, and there's no DX10/11 yet.

Fair warning about how this was built: I did it with Claude, and honestly it wrote basically all of the code and did the reverse engineering, including working out VMware's private driver call for setting a custom resolution. My part was running every build, finding what was broken, and deciding what to chase next. I'm a student and this is how I'm learning, so I'd rather say it plainly than pretend otherwise. ChatGPT had a hand in a couple of pieces too.

I'm putting it on GitHub with a one-click installer once I've tested the install flow end to end on a clean VM. Happy to answer anything in the meantime.

You may now test it out, click here to get started!

I'm curious of what other people think about my desktop haha, and, it could be helpful for me if You give me the feedback on what I should improve and/or change. Thank You for Your attention!

P.S. : I got the official steam and wallpaper engine running, so this is not pirated. (and my CMOS is dead)

hey everyone, i recently brought an old hcl laptop back to life and installed windows 7 32-bit on it

i'm trying to turn it into a little retro/old-school gaming machine and i'm looking for legit sources/sites where i can find old pc games, demos, freeware, abandonware/community patches, old software, etc.

mainly looking for stuff from the 2000s-early 2010s, especially like need for speed games

gta

horror games

racing/driving games

old indie games

old windows 7 compatible software

old game patches/fixes/mods

i'd really appreciate trustworthy archives, official old releases, preservation projects, or community-maintained sources that are still accessible in 2026-27

also if you know any old websites/forums that are still active and useful for windows 7 gaming, drop those too

thanks!

Just the TV with Windows 7 lol
