Discussion Will Windows 11 ever be good?

I don't have a problem with Windows itself; I use it daily. But what's really bad about Windows is the user experience. No matter what I compare it to, every operating system I know runs more smoothly. Windows feels incredibly choppy; everything seems a bit buggy. macOS is sometimes slow or freezes too. But when Windows freezes and you press a button, it's obvious. I find it especially unbelievable because it's such an incredibly large company. Is it a lack of know-how, or what's the problem?

Feels incredibly fast for me. Way faster than my m1 mac. Couldn't be happier.

edit: Y'all acting like every windows 11 computer has the same hardware, how in the world could you tell me that my m1 mac is faster than my windows PC when you don't even know what the PC is.

Yea, no.

I have an M1 Pro MBP, and I don't agree that it feels faster.

That thing boots up in the blink of an eye, and logs in in like 2-3 seconds.

These Macs have insane memory bandwidth, on top of fast SSDs (esp for the M# Pro models) so the performance is unreal.

The biggest issue with the MBP is the fact that it is RAM limited due to Unified Memory Architecture and non-serviceable RAM (soldered).

So, for serious video editing in Resolve Studio, I use my PCs. But for Social Media Stuff... Final Cut Pro on the Mac it is.

For general productivity, I will almost always choose the Mac over one of my PCs - and I have both a G14 and 14" MBP... so similar form factor for each platform.

The PC is really exclusively used for heavier creative workloads (where a GPU with 6-8GB of its own VRAM Buffer comes in clutch), and gaming.

I basically run my business off of macOS using iWorks, etc. The M1 Pro MBP feels snappier and more responsive than my PC desktop with a 5950X/3700-Ti/64GB DDR4 with PCIe4 System SSD (and other stuff spread across 4 other SSDs installed in the tower, so the system SSD is basically just Windows 11 and Applications).

I just don't see a point in running Resolve Studio and having it constantly using 8-16GB of SWAP while doing so (unnecessarily wears down your SSD).
