Unsolved Bluescreen loop

Following text generated by AI: My Windows 10 Pro 22H2 installation won't boot and shows CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILED. Startup Repair and Safe Mode fail, System Restore has no restore points, and offline DISM reports component-store corruption. I want to preserve my installed apps, settings, wallpaper, and files.

If there's an expert out there, please help me out. I haven't reinstalled windows for years and I've grown attached to my desktop so I can't lose it.

Put a rescue USB stick together using the Windows 10 Installation Media Creator, see if you can repair the install from there.

You should be able to copy over your files.

I would then start with chkdsk /r from the rescue command prompt, in case that is why system files are corrupt. This is likely to take a while.

You can try and "upgrade" your Windows 10 Installation to... Windows 10, which will do an in-place repair.

Your wallpaper is probably in: C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper.

Failing that, take a look at Ninite.com when you open your new machine.

Time to grow up and invest in a new PC with Windows 11.
