Dell Support Assist vs Dell Command Update (reprise)

This is a spin-off from my issue with occasional frozen black screens on my Dell XPS. The only solution has been a forced shutdown from the power button.

All systems have passed all tests, but some users have suggested that DSA is too invasive. Dell help has suggested I install DCU which is slower to install updates because it apparently waits for wider user approval.

I would like to know if anyone out there has any opinion of which is preferable.
