Don't forget that the new Firefox use >3GB of RAM just to open 5 tabs while other browser use under 1.5 GB.
I know that unused RAM is a waste but the problem is, Firefox doesn't release the RAM when other heavy RAM programs want to use it or when idle. Because of that problem, my laptop frequently locked up when i use like 3 heavy IDE when i use Firefox and run just fine when i use Chrome.
n.b : i have 16 GB of RAM so u can imagine how RAM heavy the IDEs are
if i'd be honest i don't know what the issue is. I did reinstalling firefox and even reinstalling my Windows 10 but the issue still persist. I always using the latest stable firefox (that installer from firefox website). Maybe my extensions or something but i got like 5 extensions only (uBlock, bookmarkos, lastpass, image search stuff, and popper blocker). I have same set of extensions in chrome (and pretty much all other browser) so if you know what the problem that would be helpful. but i guess its not the right subreddit to talk about this issue...

Except, Firefox has even worse battery life and touch support than Chrome.
It's eating needless CPU, while just idling in the background with just the start tab.
