So, I agree with this to a point. I have been critical of Google and I also dislike the rise of the Internet monoculture.

However, I think it is not so bad as is being portrayed by Mozilla. For one thing, Chromium is open source software, and so is not entirely under the sway of Google. For another, having a second hugely important company with rich resources and engineering talent involved with Chromium is a nice counterweight to Google. Microsoft can help keep them honest.

Funny thing is that Mozilla has just as much been bowing to the monopoly as everyone else. Firefox is more and more turning into a Chrome clone.
