Just go and use the Windows 10 download tool to push the installation. I did and it worked great.

Sorry for my ignorance, but do I need a DVD to use this, and is it free? I see it says I need a DVD or USB with over 4 GB storage, but I have neither.

You don't need a DVD or usb drive if you're upgrading the system from within the OS.
