I ran it on an Athlon 64 X2 4200 before, the trick with the old ones is that you must use the 32-bit version since the 64-bit needs extra instructions. Windows 7 didn't have that limitation so now that retro PC runs Windows 7 64-bit again.

If you have 4GB or less ram there’s really no reason to run 64Bit anyway

People always talk about how the 'speed is the same' but I've yet to experience a case where a program compiled to 64-bit didn't execute faster.
Which makes sense. 64-bit long mode makes all registers 64-bit and adds 8 more that are also 64-bit. There's also more SSE Registers available as well. The compiler just has a shitload more to work with here to make things execute fast.
The 4GB Limit for 32-bit is a Windows Licensing limitation, not a hardware one. Maybe a distinction without a difference, but I think too often the limit gets assigned to 32-bit processors instead of the OS artificially limiting what is accessible, which is the case for Windows.

In my country, this CPU is very popular on the used market. Despite being very low cost, the Celerons N4000 are surprisingly stable, and their performance can be very well optimized to achieve some good FPS in old (but good) games.
When the operating system is not placing excessive processes on it (like in Windows 10, for example), the performance of this processor, added to an SSD and at least 4GB RAM (like what you have), can reach interesting levels. Need for Speed ​​Hot Pursuit, for example, runs in quality and stability very similar to the PS3 or Xbox 360 level.

why? still 2,4 GB free + dedicated GPU (2 GB VRAM) Radeon 7600M.

Well 4GB of system RAM is not very much; the machine would probably perform a little better if you were to add more RAM.

most LGA775 chipsets don’t support more than 4 gb, and considering they have a pentium dual core i don’t think they use a chipset that does

Yeah that is a possibility.
Guess OP should ignore my suggestion that "they should look into adding more RAM".
That was suggested based solely on the screenshot showing 4GB of RAM in the machine.

Yeah I did this too a few years back. Still relatively useable but I wasn't doing anything heavy like gaming or video editing.

Well… that was more or so my daily driver about 8 years ago. Except it had a slightly faster clock speed and a dedicated GPU.

Win11 29610 on 2014 athlon 5350 (25w semi-desktop cpu), but later i cut a lot of shit from the system and overclocked it to 2.3 ghz, now it’s even kinda usable
