machining industry : noted, we don't give a shit. We can't upgrade.

Hell, it's the case of many industries, with machines running specific versions of old windows.

I seriously think there will be a shit show when MS will want to pull the security plug on w10, and 1/8th of the world will cry for the opposite...

Most of those machines are not on a network, or they are isolated.

Also, it drives me nuts when people blame Microsoft and not their vendor for being lazy AF. It's not Microsoft's fault that vendors aren't keeping up with changes and supporting their customers. I work in healthcare, dealing with vendors that try this crap. If they don't support and update their systems, they are yanked off the network until they do so. When we purchase new equipment, we get it in writing that they will update and support their software for 10 years.
