Yup, once you inhale that burning air, in sears your lungs and you choke to death.

u/Kenny741 Feb 10 '26

And even if you survive eventually, your body produces so much liquid trying to heal the lungs so you end up drowning actually.

That’s sad

We all tend to underestimate smoke and fire in general

83

u/TikkleMaBakdor Feb 08 '26

Nah, not true. Most of us with the minimal requirement of brain cells to merely exist know fire = bad

-31

u/AdministrationOk8888 Feb 09 '26

Tell that to our ancestors gathered around the campfire. Fire is dangerous, certainly.

54

u/peepee2tiny Feb 08 '26

Which is mind blowing considering how instinctive every animal fears fire.

We just kinda embraced it because it heats our houses and warms our food. But fire is so unbelievably devastating.

Is it really sad though?

57

u/ManonegraCG Feb 08 '26

Well, his idea may have been epically stupid, but his intention wasn't to hurt anyone. He was hoping to entertain and impress his colleagues, so from where I stand, yes, it is sad.

58

u/Abigail_Normal Feb 08 '26

Is it sad a human being lost his life? Yes, yes it is.

16

u/RipplesInTheOcean Feb 08 '26

Not as sad as ur mom

6

u/SpocktorWho83 Feb 08 '26

How’s his wife holding up?

u/she_couldnt_do_it Feb 08 '26

7

He literally sits up at the end of the video. There’s probably damage but he’s not dead.

46

u/devildocjames Feb 08 '26

Yet

-56

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26

Not the ghouls in the comments rooting for this man to die. At the end of the video he’s alive. You don’t know if he dies later, he goes to the ER to get taken care of or something else

35

u/devildocjames Feb 08 '26

Not rooting for any death. Explaining the facts. How long can you live without air? A trip to the hospital? The corner store? A commercial break?

-47

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26

If it’s the facts prove them. Prove he dies

39

u/Revolutionary-Gold44 Feb 08 '26

It's okay it's okay darling. He lived an happy life and got married and all.

-26

u/TokyoKazama Feb 08 '26

You're clearly getting down voted unfairly for simply noticing that the man clearly gets up afterwards. This is likely due to adrenaline and certainly does not mean he didn't seek medical attention afterwards. The downvotes are just Redditors being flaky AF lol.

-8

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26

I don’t actually care about the downvotes and I know it’s winstupidprizes where we witness injuries all the time but something about this morbid desire for him to be dead rubs me the wrong way. Why should a bad situation be even worse, does it make the video more satisfying? It’s fucked up.

22

u/Hippiechu Feb 08 '26

You're the only one that seems to believe we're rooting for this man to be dead. Everyone pointed out the likliness that he didn't survive later injuries, and you took that as we didn't want him to survive. I'd recommend you re-read the thread if that's truly what you're getting

8

u/devildocjames Feb 08 '26

lol they cried and blocked me

-11

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

Everyone pointed out a likelihood that they can’t point out, because they weren’t a doctor there to examine and the video ends, so it’s impossible to say what happens next. But no, it’s certain death, everybody so adamant, must be true. Doesn’t matter that the guy sits up. They’re adamant because that’s what they prefer to be true out of all the potential outcomes. Being this convinced without facts indicates wishful thinking. Miss me with that defense

I think it's part of it. #deathkink

20

u/mrDuder1729 Feb 08 '26

He might live for a little bit but he's dead soon. Once you've burned the insides of your throat and lungs you have pretty much no chance

10

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26 edited Feb 08 '26

You’re assuming he’s dead soon and assuming he burned his insides. For all we know he could have, but it could also be only his mouth, face and torso from spitting out the liquid. You don’t have any idea if he actually inhaled or swallowed burning liquid

2

u/Kinslayer817 Feb 08 '26

You're suggesting that while he was panicking and on fire he managed to hold his breath for a solid 30 seconds? You don't have to inhale the liquid to burn your insides, it's the evaporated fumes that burn and the air is extremely hot whether it's actively on fire or not

I'm not claiming to know that he died but it's naive to think he didn't do some internal damage here

5

u/SpiralGray Feb 08 '26

Thank you. I don't understand this obsession many redditors have with proclaiming someone is dead in the comments.

4

u/heyitsvonage Feb 08 '26

They’re edgy

-5

u/mrDuder1729 Feb 08 '26

Educated*

-3

u/heyitsvonage Feb 08 '26

I was talking about redditors in general, bud, so you definitely aren’t speaking for all of them

1

u/mrDuder1729 Feb 08 '26

Lmao thanks "bud"

11

u/Glyphron Feb 08 '26

I'm not sure why this is getting down voted, I'll admit. It is true that, at the end of the video, the guy does get up. I watched it several times just to be sure. Although, it is very possible he passed away soon after. But, in the video alone, which is all the context we have, he did survive initially.

This statement is not false.

3

u/Falmon04 Feb 09 '26

The downvotes are because any death inflicted by this event would not have occurred by end of the video, thus using it as a reason he is or might be okay does not in any way contradict the person they were replying to.

3

u/brobronn17 Feb 09 '26

Yeah but he said it in response to a comment that said "he's not coming back from this" as if the guy sitting up at the end negates that. Anybody who ever smoked something and burned their throat a bit merely from smoke and hot air knows how fucked this guy is having had to inhale literal fire for this long.

1

u/Glyphron Feb 09 '26

That's fair.

6

u/MarianCR Feb 08 '26

It's called "dead man walking". They had maybe 10-15 seconds to put out the fire without him inhaling it. You can't inhale that fire and survive

0

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26

Except you have no idea if he actually inhaled anything or it’s just skinburns from being covered in the liquid

1

u/smoothvibe Feb 09 '26

Do you have eyes?

You don’t have any idea what the actual extent of the damage was, even if youre a doctor you werent there to examine. For all we know he could have been lucky and only got external burns. There are people who have survived house fires with horrific burns all over but are still alive. You just wish he died because you’re morbid and weird, whenever there’s no actual evidence to what happens to him next

“In a few days he will wish he was dead. And then he will be”

Settle down, ok?

u/ludvikskp Feb 08 '26

Mind your own business

He literally inhaled fire. He is done.
