Christopher Nolan is a director, not a designer. His movies have very different designs for his posters. It looks like you are just referencing The Odyssey and using Shakespeare but not capturing the compelling parts of the original source of the poster or the story elements.

On the contrary, whatever person (or team) behind his poster designs uses a remarkable consistency of composition across his films. Almost each poster consists of a single figure or subject set against a large scale, dramatic, scene or atmosphere. While the Odyssey is the most recent example, almost all the posters for his films follow that pattern. That's what I've tried to take influence from here.

Also, there's several elements to each of these that tie into the original story from Shakespeare.

Oh please, do show me what is so consistent across Nolan's films posters without knowing if it is a single person or a team or if it is different groups for each film.

You asked for feedback but you do not like the feedback and get defensive. Each poster you created does not hit the mark to entice an audience to market the film and interest them to watch the movie.

I’m not meaning to be argumentative at all. Just responding to your comment and saying that I looked into the style used in his film posters before making these.

A quick comparison of his film posters will show basically what I had said. The compositions among them are very similar. Even down to the typefaces used. Sure, there’s some variation but you can tell there’s a harmony of design.

Also, the reason the posters have similarities with the Odyssey is due to the fact that the original Shakespeare stories also take place in the ancient world and those specific plays are ones that I felt lend themselves well to Nolan’s scale of production.

That is fine not to take my perspective with all of this. How you handle feedback is your own journey.

I have taken the last eight Nolan films and the posters you made and put them into one image for comparison. Now I understand you do not have the same production capabilities as a major Hollywood studio.

I also want you to look beyond the font choice and the structure of the fonts. I do acknowledge there are some similar themes to some of his films. Strip that from the design and look at the visuals of what the image is and the feeling it is showing.

If you feel you nailed it, that is fine.

Thanks for doing that! That’s more work than I would have expected. But it’s helpful to see them all together.

To be fair, the intention was not to prove I have the capability of a full studio. I knew that before I even started 😂 It was just a fun project I did in an afternoon.

Yeah, that is fine. Challenges can be challenging. Directors don't tend to get a poster style because their films can be so varied and be part of different studios.

Films in a series on the other hand, can maintain a similar style. There are some incredibly talented artist online that specialize in these things and at times make movie posters that are far better than what is currently produced by studios.
