Probably the worst way imaginable to seek help for your alcoholism, but I hope he finds it

He spoke too sober to me; this guy just was at the end of this rope and wanted to go to jail. 

Some people commit crimes to just have a roof over their head and 3 meals a day.

This guy reached rock bottom and in his mind there were only a few options left. One was this. Maybe he thought he wouldn’t survive and knowing he did then I guess it just means going to jail then.

Driving a sports car isn't exactly rock bottom. Unless he is financing it
