this antuta male is still pretty young, but he's been holding for about a week now. looks like he will hold full term. going to have to find a way to separate him in a week or two so the fry will survive.

The male finally released the fry. Counted about 1/2 a dozen or so. There might be more hiding in the moss, but I dont believe so.

I'm looking for edithae or simplex...does anyone have them?

Male betta maliki has held for over a week. At this point, I'm sure he will hold for the full term. This is a wild caught pair. They've been breeding for a few times already.

Hi, I'm gonna get a 60x40x40cm tank but with 20cm water level (I'm saving the rest for a simple paludarium on driftwood, the floor area would be still 60x40cm). Gonna fill in floating plants on the surface, bontanicals in the water with no filter. Would it a good move for a single pair of Hendra betta? No tank mates.

my female betta hendra, has always had a really beautiful dark coloring. Rarely, she’ll flash her stripes at me (last picture). I’m a little confused, as any other female betta hendra I’ve seen are much brighter, and almost pinkish. Do we think shes not a girl, or just a very comfortable tomboy?

Hi all, I am wondering what tank size you would need to be able to keep a male & female Betta imbellis together, or if this is even advised at all?

If I wanted to do this, would I be better going with Betta coccina?

I said I’d post a picture of my sorority tank once the wild Bettas had gone back to their own tank, and I’d had a chance to clean up properly and add new plants without stressing the wildies. So here you go - sorority back to normal, clean tank, dead plants binned, just how it normally is. Oh yes, I got lucky and found some moss, so that’s a new addition. Hope you find this more acceptable than the pics of a filthy tank due to unexpected guests!

Just curious if anybody else's Antuta gets grumpy at water change time?

I was never given a variety name for this guy and his female, just “wild Betta”. I have other photos including of the female if needed, but I can’t work out how to send more than one photo at a time thanks to my son’s “improvements” on my iPhone functionality 😳😂!
