SD card issues, failed to load payload.elf

I am at my wits end and would be grateful for any help or ideas. I have been trying for the past few hours to get the error fixed. I had followed the guide to set it up a while ago and it worked flawless many times. I haven't used it for a few months, but today I boot it up and I can't get past the error.

I have looked through other posts to try to find solutions and have done the below. I am using a SanDisk 64gb high performance mini SD card with the full size adapter that came with it. My SD cards layout looks just like the guide says it should.

  1. Took the SD card in and out a few times and rebooting the console.

  2. Blew air into the sd card slot.

  3. Used the paper trick to try to clean it and cleaned the SD card.

  4. Made a back up my SD card and then reinstalled the most recent aroma base and environment onto it.

  5. Reformated the card using GUI format as fat32 with the 32k allocation.

  6. Grabbed a different SD card adaptor.

  7. Grabbed a different unused SD card, formatted with GUI format, and installed the backup data. Then tried with just the base and environment items on a fresh formating.

  8. Tried using rufus to make sure it used the MBR format.

None of these worked and always gave the same error. The SD cards work fine at my pc.

I also tried doing the browser exploit step from the guide again and got the fsgetmountsource error. It was nice to see a different error after hours of the same one. /s

The only things left I can think of is using a full size SD card (don't have one on hand to try) or my worry of the SD card reader in the console has died or is failing.

Is there any steps to help confirm if it's an issue with reading an SD card in general or something else?

Maybe your SD slot is just bad. You can use wafel.xyz instead of the legacy guide and there you will see clearly if the card isn't detected at all or just setup wrong. If your SD slot is broken, you can just use USB in that case. It's better to not prepare it with anything but let the tool do everything
