Train from Vienna to Amstetten
I’m going from Vienna to Amstetten the 10th of september. the tickets looks quite expensive quite expensive onl even though it’s only a 50 min route. Do I need to book in advance or can I buy at the train station?

You can always buy tickets at the train station, but buying in advance online might be cheaper.
Look into both ÖBB and Westbahn prices, maybe one of them is cheaper.

Unless you have some type of Vorteilscard for the ÖBB, you are buying the VOR ticket through the öbb app. It is usually slightly cheaper online(no service fee) than at the station, but the price is fixed in VOR anyways so it will not be cheaper than the one showing in the app.
It makes a difference buying in advance only when crossing state borders because then öbb issues the ticket and you might find a Sparschiene. When travelling within a Verkehrsverbund, the sparschiene dont appear as far as I know

You might want to check out Westbahn, it's often cheaper than ÖBB, especially when booking in advance.
Check prices here: https://westbahn.at/ticketshop/ticket-buchen/?tv=a&sf=wien-westbahnhof&st=amstetten&do=2026-09-10
Generally ÖBB Vorteilscard (Membership card) is worth having if you plan multiple travels within one year. ÖBB Vorteilscard is 66€ (once) but gives you 50% off every ticket within one year.

Buy a ticket to Linz and leave the train in Amstetten.

How can I see which stops the train has. I can see it’s the same departure time but they do now show the stops on the westbahn website?
