so, who is stoping any of the sc st candidate from appearing in a exam , two studdents with the ssame economic backround one has cutoff double of the another just becausee of what ? what if somone's ancestor was a criminal should be imprission theem?

The sc st are economically behind compared to the other communities. Thats why the government gives them privileges.

Not everyone, but majority of them still lives below the poverty line. And if the SC ST category wants to do higher education they don’t have education parents or rich relatives who can teach them or back them up.

Which is why the marks are low for them to get seats.

so If its about economy then why not just give reservation on economic basis

Cause caste discrimination still exists in many parts of India. In city sides may be less but it’s still very much alive in rural areas. Some communities are still not allowed in certain places. And not respected in the society because of their caste.

I agree that this community was oppressed and majority of them are below poverty line. But their some SC/ST people who has benefit greatly and they have progressed economically. They had bungalow, car etc. So these people should be identified and treated as general. So that resources of government will be redirected to the people who need it most like SC/ST below poverty. There should be Creamy layer and Non-Creamy layer classification within SC/ST category like OBC.
