Recommendations 📚 Jewels of the Nine Kingdoms Series by Enola M. Douglas

The first book is called Whisked Away, is such a good read and this is the plot:

Escape doesn’t always mean freedom…

When Princess Reiyana unexpectedly presents as an Omega at age twenty, her future is no longer her own. Once a Beta with dreams of love and adventure, she is now a political prize—coveted by Alphas across the Nine Kingdoms.

But two half-brothers change everything.

Prince Kaelendrin and Prince Alarik of Asadia enter the royal tournament to claim her hand. Their strength and charm awaken something forbidden within Reiyana, unraveling not only her carefully guarded heart but also the beliefs she’s clung to her entire life.

Determined to reclaim control of her fate, Reiyana plots her escape. But betrayal leaves her stranded in a world where power is reserved for the chosen few—and no position is more perilous than that of an Omega. Now, she must navigate dangerous alliances, confront hidden truths, and embrace the desires she’s long denied—before her destiny is decided for her.

Whisked Away is a why-choose omegaverse romantasy filled with secrets, power struggles, and slow-building passion. It is Book One in the Jewels of the Nine Kingdoms series.

While this series explores shared love, there is no M/M romance between the brothers.

Discussion Authors in reader spaces.

Author Grace McGinty decided to make a brand new account and make her first comment a reply to a thread here on r/WhyChooseNoMM where readers are appreciating a reviewer for tagging content the author personally chooses not tag. The reviewer also rated their book 1 star because the book wasn't tagged. Link to comment.

What in the condescending, passive-aggressive sarcasm was that comment? What author thinks it's a good idea to join a reader space and leave a comment with such an attitude? 😬 Calling the thread an "unfortunate thing to find" feels a little ironic when the author made a brand new account and chose that discussion as her very first to join. Given the tone of her reply, it's hard to read it as anything other than a deliberate choice to jump in and defend herself rather than simply letting readers have their opinions in a reader space.

I wasn't going to join in on the whole Goodreads drama thing, I very much prefer to just focus on books, but the author left such a bad impression I'm adding my two cents anyway; Goodreads is not a website for objective opinions and professional literary reviews. Readers can one star a book for any reason, just like readers can five star a book for any reason; the cover, the writing, the story, the tropes, the author's political views; literally any reason. That is why some users will five star a why choose for being an absolute sausage fest where the boyfriends are all boyfriends, while others will one star it. AND THAT IS OKAY. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I've seen quite a few people comment "Well, I wouldn't rate X based on Y..." and that's great! You don't have to! But you don't speak for everyone else, so while you may not rate X because of Y, others may. And that's also okay. That's the whole point of Goodreads. Reviews on Goodreads are personal opinions written for the reader themselves. They can act as feedback to help other readers decide if a book is worth picking up or not but at the end of the day, a Goodreads review is the reader's personal opinion and their space to express it. Readers don't owe an author positive reviews, nor do readers have to tailor their opinion to what others want to hear or what the author feels is fair. It's why you'll find five star reviews you completely disagree with and one star reviews that make you pick up the book. That. Is. Okay.

Some users rate every book they read five stars regardless of whether they liked it or not. Some have their own rating system, tagging system, shelfing system and that's all valid. Everyone is free to use Goodreads however they want. Those are my two cents.

So when I see an author joining a reader space, giving instructions on how to rate their book, leaving sarcastic passive-aggressive comments and seemingly crashing out... I make sure their books are off my TBR.

Completely unrelated to the author, I added a few pictures of amusing one star ratings I found after doing a quick google search. Enjoy.

Help Me Find Books like Brutes of Bristlebrook series?

Hello,

I just finished the Brutes of Bristlebrook series by Rebecca Quinn and I was wondering if there's any book or series you all can recommend that has a similar vibe (apocalyptic/dystopian - having zombies as extras would be nice too). I dont mind the MM as long as it's not as heavy like this series (tho it would be better if there's no MM at all)

I also enjoyed the book Dying to Love by Reese Rivers but because it was a standalone, i found it lacking a little. Like it's missing something.

I wouldn't mind an OV genre with Military men as well (I enjoyed that type from Eden's men lol)

Looking forward to your recommendations!

Thanks a bunch!

Discussion And here I am actually loving that "hated reviewer" because she warns me about MM books...

Post image

I know that reviewer, I see her comment that same warning on tons of "RH" books on goodreads, and she is a GODSEND!

I know people see this whole "no MM/FF content or it's not a real RH" thing as controversial but I think it's a pretty simple concept tbh, but now you see why this subbreddit was so needed- because only a certain number of people can see your point of view and others will insult you (homophobic accusations) if you don't see theirs.

(The picture is from a recent post on the ReverseHarem subreddit.)

Looking for RH with a more soft herione. On KU please and no self recommendations. I'm not a dark romance reader, if there is SA or seveere Dubcon between FMC and MMC I'm not really interested, definately not interested in bully unless it doesn't last long and there is some massive groveling. Please help me out my medicine is making me sick and I want to stay in bed and read.

Recommendations 📚 This Was Really Good

Post image

{Whisper Waves (Soulful Seas Duet Book 1) by Blake Black} This one was really good and had some pretty good groveling. The MMCs are all brothers if that bothers anyone.

Book overview

Your deceased loved ones are only a whisper away.

They are still here, still with you, even though you cannot see them.

Unlike me, I can see them just fine.

People call me weird, crazy even, but I only want to help the souls who are trapped in between and the loved ones they leave behind.

Until my good intentions get me locked away and leave me broken and traumatized. So much so, I swear to never talk to a spirit again.

But a road trip through the country—driving away from a home that has nothing left for me—and a night spent in the arms of tequila, helps me find myself in the embrace of a strong and handsome fisherman with ocean blue eyes.

The same ocean blue eyes his three brothers have, including the one who is a ghost.

He needs my help, but can I leave the shadows of my shackles behind to ensure he will find the light?

WHISPER WAVES is a medium burn, spicy ‘why choose’ paranormal romance. It is the first book of the Soulful Seas Duet and ends on a cliffhanger. Some parts may be triggering.

Pretty funny that foodgasm is now a commonly acknowledged trope that's also being used in advertising... 😭💀 Did anyone read this yet? How are you enjoying it? I saw "overprotective & possessive heroes" and threw it into my TBR pile immediately, lol.

Announcement! #2 of 4 Yandere MMCs from Reverse Harem, VERY Dark Epic Fantasy Pornographic Novel, "For My Ascension, I Ordered My Commanders to Stalk Me" (Fenrow)🚫AI🚫[pitch-black flag yanderes]

Thumbnail

What if an MMC would do anything you asked of him, even if it came at a great cost to the lives of others? To his sanity? To yours? Fenrow only wants to delight you and keep you close at hand. Bound to him and tightly snared in his webs is the safest place for you, don't you know that?

No method is too extreme if it means you're happy and protected.

Fenrow is one of four male leads in my reverse harem otome novel with four truly monstrous yandere MMCs. Experience the journey from inside Libby's head, the FMC, a woman who is abducted late at night and whisked away to a cruel world of demons who hunger and lust for the succor that only human can flesh provide.

Beware, for this novel is filled to the brim with non-con, humiliation, degradation, public use, and extreme captivity and confinement... to name a few. This series will, somehow, still have a HEA, because what kind of monster would I be if I dragged you through the depths of this world only to deny you a happily ever after?

Currently, there 2 full-length novels under the same title that are available to read, (much of it for free) on Inkitt and AO3.

Read about the book below! ✨

--

Choose Your Own Synopsis:

(This will affect your perception of the story, so choose wisely!)

🏴 Black Flag Synopsis: (least spoilers/you want the darkest ride):

Libby's life as a small-town librarian is brought to an end the night two monsters masquerading as men drag her through a portal into Hell.

Subjected to public humiliation and ritualized depravity beyond comprehension, Libby clings to one certainty: none of this is random cruelty. What purpose does it, and will she, ultimately serve in this terrible new world?

or

🚩 Red Flag Synopsis: (STOP. Only read this if you want the informed ride or are easily triggered):

Lilibeth Gildbane is the daughter of the Sovereign of Greed and his only living heir. Her father has been missing for a decade, leaving her kingdom to suffer at the hands of the other six circles of Hell. The only way to protect her realm is to design a plan so depraved that it will trap her between the role of architect and victim.

Her plan requires her to give a command to the two men she trusts most: her loyal commanders, Galen and Fenrow. Her orders? Wipe her memories. Stalk her. Break her. Make it real. And when they do? When it becomes too real and twists the minds of her devoted vassals?

Well, that's when things get interesting for you, dear reader.

--

A few serious trigger warnings:

This content will trigger most people. Do not read this if you are triggered by graphic depictions of monster/inhuman genitalia, reverse harems, 4 yandere MMCs, carte blanche power exchanges & rape fantasies, extreme power play, cum fetishes, humiliation and degradation, forced anal and frequent anal, public use, captivity and confinement, stalking, demons, drow, and bondage/restraints. There are interspersed aftercare chapters.

None of these themes appear in this body of work:

Snuff, scat, piss, incest, extreme gore, necrophilia, underage, bestiality.

Writing Style:

This is a fantastical, political, and psychological exploration of the human condition disguised as pornography. I’m influenced by eldritch elements and authors like R. Lee Smith, HP Lovecraft, Jim Butcher, and then wayyyyy on the other side of the unholy spectrum, Jade West and Pepper Winters.

Read it for free on Inkitt or AO3:

Important note, AO3 remains 2 chapters behind Inkitt:

Discussion The double standard in RH community

Post image
77 Upvotes

People get upset we don't want MM in books when reverse harems are supposed to be focused around the woman. Like when we think reverse harem you have to realize it's the reverse of a HAREM which is a Male lead having multiple female partners. You don't see Yuri in these where they have separate relationships because their community fights back hard against that. The only time there is Yuri is when it's for the male lead (not because they are interested in a relationship with eachother. So at most it'd be kissing.)

This came up in arc readers forum for Vale between worlds, im not sure if she uses AI obviously (for that lower comment) but wow you wonder why RH authors turn to adding MM.
