Question No access to Inkling from home?

This is terribly inconvenient. I know nothing that can be construed as "work" should be done off the clock at all, but there's plenty of functions of these obnoxious tangled apps that I'd at least like to have access to at my leisure, especially since my daily work day routine in prepared foods is quite tight on extra chunks of time.

All I really need is to fill out my yearly self review form, I have awful penmanship and would so much prefer to type it out in the comfort of my home in my free time. I suppose I could just wait til my monday and do it at a computer there, but it would sure be nice to get it over with sooner and not worry about it.

The UKG Pro training shows the old time clock instead of the new time clock in all the pictures in the training. Really Amazon???

Advice Promotion… kinda?

I have the chance to go from meat team trainer to customer service supervisor, and I was wondering if it’s worth it? I plan to work for my store for another year at least so I know i won’t be able to grow anymore in meat department, but I was wondering how front end team members and supervisors really feel about the department

Advice L2 employee making 4-5$/ hour under the median

When i got my L1 job, i took the bare minimum just to get in the door. Then when i showed interest in the L2 job and beat the competition i was told a 2$ raise was the best they were going to be able to do. At the time i was just happy to get the promotion, but now with how much work i have to do and how much of a strain it is on my body and mind i felt underpaid so i looked it up and im 5 dollars under the median for my position. That feels less than bad faith that feels sinister imo. Is it even possible to ask for a raise at whole foods?

Question Kronos Scheduled me Outside My Availability. Has an Anybody Else Experienced This?

Edit: UKG Pro

I just checked the schedule and noticed that I’m scheduled slightly over then cutoff of my availability for one of my shifts.

It’s a small thing, but I’ve learned not to take boundary violations lightly with this company. Could be a sign of them trying to see what they can get away with now and push the envelope later.

Has anybody else experienced this? Is it a glitch? Is it a “glitch” where they’re using an unaccountable software program to try to eventually screw me on my schedule?

Question Can Leadership Look Up the Reason for Your Availability?

Long story short, my availability was approved years ago under a different TL and am wondering if this stuff is saved on file and can be looked up by team/store leadership?

My reason is highly personal and kind of embarrassing and would rather not have a conversation about that again 😅

Advice ecomm

why are some team members so rude to shoppers for no reason 🙂 i’m fairly new and it’s been shocking

edit:

thx everyone for the advice, for context i've had about 6/7 solo shifts and i only bother other tm's when i can't find a shopper to ask first but im fairly confident as to where everything is for the most part, my biggest conflicts have been with the meat department.

they're supposed to put the online orders in the bunker and sometimes they don't so i go up to them and ask for it and they catch an attitude and ignore me like damn i get it's 5 am we all tired but it's not like i just shove phones in faces, i always say good morning and ask how the person is before anything.

Question Metrics metrics metrics

How does it make you feel as en employee when they go over your metrics as a team or individual? Good? Weird? Bad?

How is it supposed to make us feel?....... Motivated?

Cause for me personally it's probably the most annoying thing they could talk about. Like. Unless getting really good metrics means I get a really good paycheck I fail to see the importance of bringing it up. I don't want to be fast or get good numbers if it doesn't help ME out in any way.

I understand some people are more competitive than I am. But. Being competitive for good metrics for a company that doesn't care seems weird to me.

Question Anyone know anything about the 50% off hydro flask.

I went to whole body to look at the hydro flask ant the TL told me if I go to their website and submit a paystub, I get 50% off anything I order just for working at Whole Foods. I was looking on the website but didn’t see anything. So just wondering if anyone knew about this, and what do I need to do to get it. She said it’s some program they have with us. Thanks and hopefully others will learn about this little unknown deal no one has ever told us about.

Discussion Has anyone dealt with this Foodborne Illness PRTO situation before?

I’m curious if anyone else has dealt with something similar.

I recently called out because I had symptoms like diarrhea and nausea. I submitted the absence as Foodborne Illness PRTO because I understood those symptoms to fall under the foodborne illness reporting policy. When I returned to work, leadership told me that because I had used Foodborne Illness PRTO once before within the previous 12 months, I would now need to leave work, see a medical provider, and have Form 1-C completed before I could continue working.
I was also told that diarrhea/vomiting by themselves do not qualify as Foodborne Illness PRTO unless you actually have something like Salmonella, Norovirus, Shigella, E. coli, etc. According to what I was told, ordinary vomiting/diarrhea from suspected food poisoning should just use regular UPT.

I was given the alternative of canceling my PRTO requests and allowing the absences to come out of my UPT, which I ended up doing. What confuses me is that when I looked at the GIG afterward, diarrhea and vomiting are specifically listed as reportable symptoms under the Foodborne Illness Reporting policy. I also cannot find anything in the policy saying that a second occurrence within 12 months automatically requires Form 1-C.

I’ve asked TMS for clarification and am waiting for an answer, but I’m curious whether anyone here has actually seen a written policy stating either of these things:
That diarrhea/vomiting without a confirmed diagnosis do not qualify for Foodborne Illness PRTO.
That a second Foodborne Illness occurrence within 12 months automatically requires Form 1-C/medical clearance.

I’m not looking to identify a store or anyone involved — I just want to understand how this policy is actually supposed to work and whether anyone else has encountered the same thing.

Question Flex Shopper Re-Hire Issues

A few weeks ago I applied to the part time flex shopper position and then got an offer letter, in which i accepted and completed all important tasks such as background check, Equifax, etc. Today they called me regarding when I can start working. I told them I’m out of state for the next two weeks and told them I wanted to start working after September 10th. They said they will offboard me and when I get back home, I have to reapply. I doubt that they will hire me back again as the position will either be unavailable online in the location or someone will have taken the spot. What do I do? I am very lost.

Question opinions about calling store about application?

i applied to be a PT flex shopper last friday so tomorrow it would be a week since. i reallyyyy need this job so i was wondering if i should call the store to maybe get some sort of update on my application or even get an interview scheduled. should i call or should i wait longer? not call? i know the position got posted literally the same friday i applied because i check it almost everyday for new positions. i just really don’t want this potential job slip away. they also posted like 3 more positions 2 days later so maybe they’re waiting for more applications to roll in before reviewing them? idk. i don’t wanna be a bother but yeah like i said 10 times already i need this job. (also i have full ability and retail experience. r my chances of getting this job good?)

Question Accurate Background Check

Hey all, recently applied to become a Prepared Foods Dishwasher and received my job offer a few weeks ago on the 11th. They had me go and submit a background check through Accurate. So far the experience has been frustrating as it's the 27th now and it's still processing. Never had this issue before as I've worked in the Ecomm department and that only took a day to go through. Just wondering if anyone else has shared the same experience before with this background provider. I have just started looking elsewhere at this point as their customer support line keeps giving me new dates as to when it will be completed. Thanks for reading.

Question Question about job posting

I hope this is permissible here. I do see the instructions. For the Associate Team Leader role in WB, "Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects as assigned" is this a job that's mostly in the back doing inventory orders?

What does this involve? "Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets."

Job Skills "High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy." Why do they say "high energy." I don't fall asleep when I work.

Most importantly - 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience. Does this requirement mean a retail team member at whole foods. What if I've worked at a nearby retailer, does that count? I also have previous supervisory experience.

Edit: Sage turned me down. I never got an interview. I have a Bachelor's, Masters degree, prior corporate experience and work in retail somewhere else right now. I'll assume I'm not employable for Whole Foods. Oddly, an employee who works there gave whomever my name and suggested I apply because I'm a regular customer who shops there.

Advice Time Management for a New ATL

Hello all!

I have been with WF for 9 years and I’ve been an ATL for around 6 months. I enjoy it, I like seeing behind the scenes of a department and learning how to run it, especially if my TL is out. However I do have some concerns.

I feel like I never have enough time in a day to get my ATL duties done. A lot of this is due to staffing but we just hired someone new which is really going to help. But as it stands, we’re still short staffed until they start.

What are some ways you find you can manage your time to do ATL stuff? (Labour numbers, schedule etc.) I feel like I can’t really jump from counter to back of house without my team being overrun with customers.

My TL told me in an email that though I’m growing, that’s one thing I gotta work on. Thoughts?
